Hey I currently have a Stinger SPV35 under my hood and I would like to have a dual battery setup with the stinger in my trunk and a thin buddyclub battery under my hood (to make room for the charge piping i'm constructing for my turbo setup) with a dual battery isolator and a 180amp alt.

my question is, is there any problem with running two totally different batteries in a dual battery setup?

rep will be given to helpful responses, thanks

Nope, as long as you have a pretty decently sized relay to separate the two batteries when not in use, otherwise since they are both different batteries, they will drain each other out leaving you stranded somewhere.

Google Stinger 80amp or 200amp relays, they work well.

I used a 200amp relay to separate my main battery from my optima yellowtop and it always worked like a charm and easy as hell to hook up.

you said you have an isolator. If so, you don't need a relay. There are pluses and minuses to either, but they both work.
