Does anyone know of a way to remove very baked on and cracked pinstripes? I tryed an "eraser" that is suposed to remove them, but it didn't work. I really don't want to paint the entire car b/c of these stupid stripes...

i'd be FAR to afraid to take a razor blade and wetsand to black paint if i were a beginner. I highly suggest you just be patient and peel it away etc..

I can do the razor blade part fine, I've been doing stupid things like that to cars my whole life......but no I would not try to wet sand my car, I have someone else to do that for me :)
It will not just peel away.....believe me I've tried everything, I think that the clear coat is over the pin stripe or something, b/c it won't come off.

unless the car was repainted, i doubt the pinstripes are under the clearcoat. they may, however, be painted on

Use some laquer thinner to soften them up.If their painted on,laquer thinner might take them off ,but you'll need to buff it out after.

It's never been repainted...it's very possible they've been painted on, idk, i want to get rid of them.

i own a graphics company we use plastic razor blades so we dont scratch the paint then we use rapid tac adhesive remover or in a pinch wd40 works well
They make a gum rubber wheel That you hook up to a drill!!!!!
It spins and the RUBBER takes the pinstripe AWAY!!!!!!
The only way to do IMO
You can get it from the parts guy that comes to shops selling cleaning supplies and shit.
Or at a paint supply store autobody shops etc

yeah, thats the eraser i was talking about.
it didn't work.
Depends on the material the pinstripe is made of. When you peel it off is it like crappy paint, shitty foam, or nasty rubber?
the foam and rubber might be easily taken off with the lacquer thinner or the wd40. Its good to wash it in an area not too well seen and then apply the product, scrub it into the pinstripe and try to scrub/scrape it out, then wash the car with regular carsoap to make sure the stuff doesn't stay on the paint. Wd-40 will grab up dirt and make it look stained.
If it's painted on, it's going to be extremely hard to take off, might want to consult a bodyshop.
