Looks like a HUGE lot near Leto High School on Sligh, right across from a rail yard...
Live Local Search (http://maps.live.com/default.aspx?v=2&cp=28.010074~-82.529238&style=a&lvl=17&tilt=-90&dir=0&alt=-1000&scene=9170211&encType=1)
Anyone know what it is?

Seems tied into the facility on the N side of Sligh via the west-most curved roads. I bet it's their property.
If you view the Bird's Eye view you will see some dirt piles and a few cars as of whenever that image was taken (shrug)

The one on the north side always has cars lined up as if it is a receiving yard for new cars off of the trains??? I went past this yesterday and it definately isn't an auto-X place:lol:

the site to the north is the rail head the place where we get our new cars and send them back to the dealers. i work for a rental car company and from what ive seen at that site most of the companies around tampa send their cars there i think mainly GMs. The site to the south is their old location i think. and the small site to the west across the street there is alot of cars moving in and out of there cant remember what type of business it is. next time i have to take a trip over there ill find out

It used to be owned by CSX - they still own the parcel to the north.
Currently owned by PCC Airpark LLC. Contact's are Gary Felsher and W. Monsees Stubbs Jr. at a NYC address. I've got a contact phone number but I'm not sure it's good. If someone who does site aquisition looks at it and feels it has good potential let me know.
And if you need to know who owns something....
Ask a real estate agent.

That's awesome. Thanks Brian! If you'll send me whatever contact info you have I'll forward it to Albert and we'll see what happens.

I've been by that lot. It's surface is rough in areas and there is a fence that splits the lot. It runs north and south through the lot about where that little crossover to the north lot is. Something is being built there now.

Well crap. Thanks for the info!
*Edit*
Just for fun I took a ride by there today and Drew is right... It's pretty busted. It looks abandoned. Old asphalt, some of it sealed long ago, some not. Huge 10 ft tall piles of fill in the middle, overgrown with bushes at one end, half a dozen car carriers parked there... Looks like it might have been a great site about 15 years ago but not so much now, heh. Oh well.

Has anyone tried the lot across the street from the Horse track on Racetrack rd??? it seems that if there is ever a Sunday morning without horseracing that it would be perfect.

Tampa Bay Downs wants $1500/day to rent that lot, and the last time I talked to them they said they weren't interested in allowing motorsports events.

Plus, unless they've repaved it, you would NOT want to autocross on it. It's rough, 20 year old, potholed, and sandy.

Has anyone looked into either Derby Lanes in St. Pete or even Albert Witted(sp) Airport? I know they both might be a stretch...
