Not mis spelled. its a different event..

SO if I can find the parts to swap out an Auto for a 5 speed trans for a 91 BMW 525 I am doing this. Well also if they accept my entry form.

I may need 2 more drivers. No promises, but I am just getting a feel IF I can pull this off. RE getting a team and the car ready. Its up in Mich, my family is up there so I would have a garage and area to prep. Also I probably would be alble to provide room and board for the team and my Parents.

The things to be worked out would be.. getting the car towed up there. Since I would be up there I would either go up early or stay late to visit family. Hence the rest of the team would have to figure out travel. Airport is not that far.

So The Unimaginatively Named "Detroit Race (http://www.24hoursoflemons.com/events/detroit/)" (29-30 September, Flat Rock MI ) if your calander allows and you can budget a way to get to Mich and cover your entry fee. RE its per driver, then Let me know.

There also is sponsership allowed. So if any one can help with that also PM me. The biggest expense I can see is getting the cage in the car.
Plus the drivers need to wear fire suits.

Looks like a blast. Racing and bumper cars all in one.

Sounds like a fun time, I may be in for pit crew. So I guess you'll be going for the permit to race?

Hmmm... I've got an SVRA comp license. I might be interested in a weekend of mayhem.

Not sure they'd accept it...last year's race at Altamont required a NASCAR license (prerequisite: ability to sign a check)....

Well it looks like I was double booked for that date, I have another car related event already planned and paid for. Sorry

BUT I WILL be doing this next year for sure. And I have spoken to a few friends that have shops and they are all interested. So the plan would be to bring 3 cars up for next year. All mid 80s BMW 325s so that we could trade parts and only bring spares up for one type of car. Plus I think after the first day of driving the winning car could go for the win and the others could run as blockers. SO that means at least 12 drivers for the event.. so plan ahead...

Any way I wanted to let every one know that its not going to happen this year. I really want to make sure that I am prepped with a good car. If the team is going 1400 miles I want to make sure we would finish the race. So this year would be a rush to get one car ready let alone 2 to 3.
SOme video of the california track. Im sure there will be some of the Mich track posted after it happens.
