tring to figure out what plug i should run in bbc
454 .30 over
forged crank - rods
domed pistons -10.5:1 compression
heads are rectangular ports ls6 - port match - blended & bowled - huge valves intake & exhaust
oringed - copper head gaskets

edelbrock victor 2jr intake - 950 hp holey dp

hei billet distrubitor - msd digital 6
timing locked out at 36 deg

motor has about 10 miles on it, it breaks up under hard acc. - pull plugs and they are black -

jetted the carb down on primary - no change -

HELP - want to start with correct plugs - any suggestions

No idea.... but the description of your motor gave me wood. :-)

sounds like your plug is to cold.put a new plug in her and let her idel for a bit then pull it..if its loaded up on u i would go up in heat range by 2..

but the thing with this is it could be timing,carb and so on that is causing this.

also go on yb.com in the n/a section there is a ton of engine builders an tuners on that site.give the cam specs 2.

Lift: .588''/.593''
Duration: 294°/306°
RPM Range: 2800-7000

going to a hei 5 plug today to give it a try - heat range right in the middle
