**cliff notes below**
so yesterday my friend dan(blackandwhite) came down to ft. myers to hang out and show me the new mod's to his 240. his a/c isnt working, so we take the civic to hooters. we hang out there for a bit and then we leave to go check out the house that my g/f and i are buying.
leaving hooters, i get stuck at a light and a white c6 comes hauling up behind me and gets around a car and into the lane next to me at the light. i look over and its a guy about my age talking on his phone. i decided to see if he wanted to play, so i baby it thru first and then hit it a little in 2nd, then let off for the next light. he stays next me and i noticed he is no longer on his phone. i look over at dan and he says go for it, but neither one of us think he is going to want to run. the light goes green and i ease out in 1st to see what the guy is going to do. he holds back and then hits it. im out about a half a car, but when he gets even with me, i floor it, hit 2nd and look over waiting to see the vette start pulling past me, but to my surprise he falls back about half a car. i manage to hold that position thru 100 when i let out(we were in a 45mph zone). i would have stayed into it as there was no traffic, but there are usually a lot of cops on the road and i figured i had pushed my luck enough. the vette kept going, but then i got behind him again at the next light. he goes hard when the light turns and i follow just for the fun of it and stay on his ass with him trying to pull away, but not going anywhere until i let out again. he then slows down and throws his arm out the window to give us the finger! so i catch back up, but we didnt get another chance to run because he hit the on ramp for I-75. as he does his arm goes back up, but gives me a thumps up this time. fun run and i was very surprised that i did so well. i think over 110 he would have pulled away, but i didnt feel like going to jail.

cliff notes:
catch a c6 at a light. i get out 1/2 a car and stay that way to 100. get the finger from c6 owner. sort of run again and get a thumbs up.

good kill, whats done to the civic?

thanks!
just an ls with upgraded drag3 kit, t3/t4 50 trim w/ .63ar ex with stage 3 wheel and supporting fuel mods.
it dyno'ed at 200whp and 190wtq @ 7psi with multiple exhaust leaks from cracks in the crappy drag d/p. i got a spoolin 2.5" dp now and i have yet to get it retuned, but i would think im close to 220whp now.
i think everyone involved was surprised at the outcome... lol. this was my first run with anything decent since i got the car running right and i kept expecting him to come rocketing by me at any time. like i said, i think after 105-110 he would have started pulling away.

Interesting kill....

like i said, im as surprised as anyone over this one. i wouldnt have posted if i didnt have a witness to back me up.
doing some math, our power to weight ratios are very similar though. corvette's about 9.8-1, im about 10-1 and again, im positive he would have pulled away up top.

i was riding shotgun, it happened verbatim...C6's are not "fast as fuck on the road" ,sorry to pop your 13 sec="fast" bubble...

I've seen a stock C6 Corvette run a 12.9 at the track, and he was and old guy (shifted like one too). I don't know if a 200hp Integra can keep with a 400hp Corvette from a roll. I'm going to have to call BS as well. Something is amiss here. Either your car is alot more powerful than you say, the guy was playing with you, or it's BS. It's one of those 3.

its a civic dx coupe, i weigh over 1000lbs less than a stock c6 and im now making more than 200whp, i just dont know how much more because i have not dyno'ed it since it was tuned. if you want to go by crank numbers, factoring in a 15% driveline loss, im probably close to 260hp and 250lb/ft of tq.

Are we talking about the 505HP C6 because thats what im talking about.

Good kill. I ran one the other day and it was a pretty good race. With a decent driver they run mid 12's in stock trim. You have yourself a pretty stout car.

was the Corvette even racing?

Svenerachi

improbable? yeah. impossible? nah.

I think that, given there is a witness and whatnot that I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and just say maybe the kid driving the c6 just didn't have a clue how to drive.

good kill, darwin's law; only the fittest survive.

and considering that my witness, while being my friend, hates honda's and would never post backing me up if it didnt happen just the way i said it. if he wasnt there, he would have been the first person to call bs on me.

no, im sorry, he must have just been idling next me the whole run to 100, you know, just babying it to make me feel better about myself.
and then to make me feel even better and to keep up appearances, he kept running part throttle to 130-140ish...

i thought you were talkin about a z06 i was gonna say total b.s to that run. but a c6 is proubly pretty close race, against your civic.good kill.it always helps to have witnesses.

good kill, you know those things in auto trim have multiple driving modes as well as there traction control is extremely restrictive, you probably have one hell of a fast civic but a manual c6 on a track with an experienced driver would definatley own you

Sounds believeable I got a run in with a NON Z06 C6 he got the jump and it stayed dead even til 130 or so from an interstate roll and that was in a 25 year old hunk of junk...I have a witness for mine too!

p.s. glad to see your car is running strong even though Dan and I's opinions are the same regarding Hondas!

lol... dan was mad because he comes down and the only run we get that weekend was in my car and not his 240.
yeah, i had to basically redo everything to fix a lot of little issues, but its running pretty good now other than the retardedly high underhood temps i have been getting on hot days. time to thermal coat and wrap everything.
i have a few more things to fix(and a retune for 14-16psi), but then i might make it back up to tampa for some fun. that is if you nissan guys dont mind me tagging along...

A LS-T Coupe should be a 12 second car given traction and driver . He didn't say he freight trained him just was abotu even . I find this story very beliveable and think everyone needs to get off a stock C6's dick

I yanked the shit out of non Z06 C6 on the highway by multiple cars in my stock GSR blocked Coupe on 10lbs

thanks for the back up, jap. and thanks guys.

yeah, i keep looking for another c6 to run heads up, but the only ones i have seen since have been driven by women or old men.

i still havent run it at the track, but i did get a run in with 2 t/a's, one was a stock lt1, the other was a ls1 w/ exhaust. i tagged along when they both lined up in front of me and went from a 20mph roll. i was behind the t/a w/ ls1 because i knew it was probably the faster one. they went and i followed. the ls1 jumped out on both of us, then i passed the lt1 with the ls1 about 2 cars ahead. by 120, i had made up the gap and was on the ls1's bumper. i let out at that point because we were nearing a populated area. he stayed in it for another few seconds and then let out. i learned the mod's from the stock lt1 guy who caught back up and asked me what was done to the civic.

how?
i let out at 100, he kept going.

if you would like clarification, i let out at 100, but if i would have kept going, i believe that over 110 he would have started pulling away from me.

It wasnt clear in your post, good kill.

I just have a old ls1 camaro rusting away if you want to see what will happen to 200whp vs a good driver

yeah, after re-reading what you quoted i added the clairification. sorry about that.
oh, i was making over 200whp at the time of this race, but im not sure how much because i have not re-dyno'ed the car since it was tuned. i fixed a ton of issues, including replacing the crappy drag3 downpipe that cracked in about 4 places while on the dyno. i would estimate im in the 220whp range now and at the time of the race.
the next time i have the civic up in tampa, i will let you know and maybe we can set something up. im always ready for a run and im not afraid to lose.
