Prior to my latest lsvtec low compression i had the same thing but 11.6:1 compression and the car started almost instantly when turning the key over. Now i turn the key and its like a couple secs then it sounds horrible for a sec then gets up to idle(about 2k til it warms up then drops to about 8-900rpms)

now what would cause this?
1st i thought my battery which was sitting forever at the shop may be the cause..but i switched it out with an optima redtop battery and same problem..
when the car has been on and driving for a while..itll start right up..but if it sits for like 7hrs maybe less it takes a good bit to get it started..?

could the low compression motor be the cause OR the only issue could be the starter?...should be the same starter i had on the last build(thats why i ask)

Did u check timing? Even with your motor being low compression, that would have no affect on y it takes so long to start. My freind has a turboed LS with low compression and it starts rt up with no issues, so check uir timming, or maybe ur dizzy is takin a shit on u...just my opinion though

 

thanks..ill look into both..(the car is freshly rebuilt 500miles on it now and when i first picked it up i just thought that was why/fresh rebuild plus battery been sitting..but its been 500 miles and still doing it)

your ignition switch might be going bad also.my teg did the same thing.it would take longer and longer to start untill one day it took a shit on me.better be safe than sorry

 

could be your fuel pump going bad.

 

mines having the same problem. God so many possibility. I thought it could be the fact that i picked up the P28 with the JDM SH!T race chip.

 

like stated sounds like a gas problem i just fixed my friends car try running a wire stright from the battery and cut the yellow/black wire going to the fuel pump....then turn the key then connect the 12volt wire to the wire going to the pump then see if it starts right up sounds like alot of work but its not
