I'm matt I just recently switched to the subaru community from the honda/acura community(the suby community is 1 million times better imo).I have a 03 blue bugeye that I picked up for 16k out the door with 42k miles on it.it has the ba tranny with the 1mm wider gears.its in the process of getting an uppipe/shorty downpipe and prodrive mid pipe.its in my garage on ramps with pb blaster soaking the bolts that hold the downpipe on.its stock besides a diy snorkus removal.future mods are a vf22/16g,fmic,ppg gearset and agressive tune.

My name is Steven and I came over from the Honda crowd becasue I discovered TQ.

I am a COP by trade, doing 3 years with Lakeland PD. Now for a living, I sell motor homes at Lazydays in Seffner.

My ride is an 06 STi with a rotated turbo, making 500+ to the tire. It has been a great learning experience working up to that personal benchmark. I really enjoy this car and its following.

I agree we have a good following in the Bay area. I have been working to graduate them from parking-lot meets (which too I enjoy) to track events. I have not had much luck though. The general consensus is that the objection is about cost. I am not $100% convinced though. I see lots of "bling" out there that could buy a lot of track time.

You can see by some of the replies you 've got so far that this forum is more about having fun than seeing the "scene" get the next level. Maybe that's not a bad thing though...

I appreciate what you are trying to do though. We need more like you working to benefit the scene.

Hey I'm brian.....I'm new to the tampa area......I first learned about tamparacing from ^djerickd if he remembers me from nasioc. I'm also new to the subaru world. I have owned many hondas with many different setups:

94 gsr = ls/vtec 12.5 comp, jun 3 cams, skunk im, smsp header, hondata etc....

94 eg = b18c with a revhard kit

89 crx = jg built b16 with a 60-1

Currently I own a 05 sti with what I consider to be stock (just tbe vishnu tune) but currently (2 weeks at the latest) will have together a pretty quick car. With the following mods:

ur 35r kit ceramic coated
ur reverse piping fmic
grimmspeed pnp'd stock header ceramic coated
grimmspeed pnp'd v2 crossover ceramic coated
grimmspeed pnp'd intake manifold ceramic coated
grimmspeed pnp'd tgv deletes ceramic coated
lots of heat wrap

Plus all the usual supporting mods for this upgrade. My goal is 450-470whp on 93 with no meth. I will be getting meth in the future.

I have met a few ppl on here. The subaru community is definitely more closely knit then the honda community. I have already met many ppl who have been very helpful to me.

im Chris from Venice.. i have a 2yo son Nathan and my wife Marielle. Been working on cars since i was 12 and i still consider it one of my major hobbies. Bought my '04 Aspen STi on August of '06 from a friend of a friend. I got it for a good price because previous owner had abused the car (little dents everywhere, front bumper torn up bad, clutch slipping, engine not making the kind of power it should be making) I have finally got all of the major issues fixed with the STi and now the car is getting a full respray *same color*. once it comes out of paint im trading turbos w/ mugenR for the GT30R kit. I cant wait til' the car is finished so i can start coming to meets and not feel ashamed of the STi.

-a 95 civic ex coupe: i had it painted nissan blue, full type-r swap (included: b18c5 engine, interior, exterior badges) i put over 20k into the car then sold it to some guy in orlando, he ended up getting it stolen otw back to orlando and i got a letter in the mail to pick the car up from a junkyard outside of miami, it ended up being burnt to the ground w/ only the frame left :mad:

-85 chevy monte carlo: clean as HELL!! i miss her... sold to a crackhead who drove it while it was overheating until engine fire and burnt to the ground.
