I kinda think that after you have an aftermarket shifter in there, putting a different one in you probably wont feel a big enough difference for it to matter for street use.

I would say thats true, except for my case...the twm shifter I bought is a big piece of shit...it is constantly giving me problems, and I cant really tell the difference between that one and a stock one
Dumbass responses FTL! So far no one replied anything that was worth informative on the Maddog shifters.
I heard they are great. I've tried an 80% and personally didn't like it. So your better off probably with a 50%. 80% is too short of a throw and you might either miss a gear or not be able to put it in a gear. I just drove a buddy of mine's SRT-4 on Sunday while he worked on mine. He has an 80% Maddog and its really a tight shifter, not tight as in awesome, tight as in stiff and you have to use more arm force to throw through the gears. I had a hard time getting it into 2nd and sometimes 1st. Kept getting into 3rd.
I have a Mopar STS and love it. Some prefer it, some prefer Maddog.

thanxs dude...i am looking at the 72
See if you find someone local with the 72% first before ordering it. That way you can atleast have a feel on how it feels and see if you actually want to buy that one or go lower. Just a suggestion, its good to test a part before actually buying it.

Got the Mopar with Booger Bushings and love it.
The Maddog 72 and 80 felt too tight and short, it seemed pretty good for a 1-2 shift or a 3-4 shift, but from 2-3 or 4-5. I considered the Maddog first because I thought the shorter the better, but it wasn't worth breaking something for a missed throw. Maddog just came up too short <----no pun intended.
^You got booger bushings? Since when? I could of sworn you told me you didn't have them way back when I met you.

^^^ I bought them last week and put them in. Shifter felt great without them, and now, feel even better with them. LOL.
Did you think I lied to you? I don't lie, especially about my boogers.

maddog's claim to fame is that they provide hardware for you in order to speed shift without breaking something...so can the mopar bushings provide the same protection as the "rod brake"?
Even those with Maddog shifters worry about missing gears and breaking something so I don't think it provides that much peace of mind. I need to get the booger bushings for my Mopar. The mopar STS isn't like stock but feels better, anything higher then a 50% throw on a Maddog could get irritating.
I'm not downing Maddog, I just wouldn't get anything higher then a 50%. If I didn't get the Mopar I would've gotten the Maddog. But since I have the Mopar STS I'm not going to invest in another STS unless this one breaks or something.

 go ahead feel that shifter, play with your boogers lol
I kid I kid, I guess I need to buy a set for my STS
