waterpump help...
so I am in the process of replacing my water pump but im having trouble getting that black cover off. any suggestions? I unbolted the engine mount and lifted the engine about 4 inches and undid about 4 bolts on the cover. but it still isnt coming out. any easy way around this?

you have to remove the lower timing belt cover, which means removing the crank pulley. dont lose the little key when the crank pulley comes out either!

Some people leave the plastic cover off, as a way of keeping track of
oil leaks, belt condition, and other things.
An alternative is to modify the cover down near the crank, so that next time, it's easier to remove without pulling the crank pulley.-Bob
