I need a SRT4 motor. Really only need the short block, but I'd buy the long block if need be.
Anyway one got any leads on one, I'd like to know about it.

PT turbo short block ? You know the build date ? Some of the GT cruisers had weaker pistons than the SRT4.
What are you looking to get for it ?

How much are you looking to spend? Dodge sells oem replacement fully assembled shortblocks for $1000. BTW-with a warranty as well.

I've found a deal for $900 shipped for a new one ( oil pan to deck ), but I'd be willing to spend half for a used motor. I'm basiclly paying for all the repairs with money I don't have, so the less the better.
Hell the hell can they warrenty the motor ? some dumb ass could easily lean it out and bust a piston.... Anyway, I consider the motor, just like every SRT4 ever built. No warrenty, unless your rich or old, or both.

WOw, thanx for the offer, but I can't imagine anyone that would buy a used motor "as is" over a brand new factory built for $300 less.
I've heard short blocks genernally go for $400 used, not to say you might not get $600 for it, sooner or later. You can buy everything brand new from dodge, including the bearings, seals, gaskets ( entire motor ), and everything but the crank and block for $465.

thats a good deal... research prices a little better.... pt non turbo short block retails for around $1200- imagine the turbo block $1400 brand new not reman. so 500 is a good deal.

S&P sells them for $899 + shipping to everyone.
I think somewhere along the lines people forgot the SRT4 was a neon, and started thinking its a BMW M3 or a Audi or something. Can't sell stock, used parts for 70% of what you can get them for brand new from a dealer.
There's an ass load of PT motors out there, and an ass load of wrecked SRT4s, its not like they are ITRs or something.
