you will probly need to run a wire through the antenna wire hole and attach it to the frame. i restored a 79 corvette i dont know how much differant they are but i dont recall there being anything but fiberglass back there

thank u for the help. came across another problem as well. i am not getting any power to the headunit. i installed the harness properly n grounded it but still no power. only thing that seems odd is that the original h/u had two plugs attaching to the back of it and the harness will only fit 1 of the plugs. any help?

Did the 'headunit' you took out have an antenna plug? In some c4's, the head unit is just a controller for a remote tuner box. If the head did not have an antenna plug, then you have the remote tuner box, which is where you'll find power, speakers, etc. In the earlier C4's, its usually up behind the passenger dash area...not fun to find. Your harness will most likely fit one of the plugs there.

If you're not using the factory amps / speakers, then you don't need to find the box...just run new const., ign, and ground up to the new head unit.
