TR/TF Username: BiggNick (previously Nmarth when site was domestics/imports)
Age: 24
Car: 1995 Acura Integra SE, 1997 Mercury Tracer Trio
Any specific car knowledge: Honda/Acura knowledge on basic repairs, some engine work, body work, and some electrical. Pretty much find my way around any car without an issue, worked on a wide variety of cars over the years (I've owned about 9 different cars/trucks).
Forums you would like to moderate: FFA, Videos/Multimedia, Tech and Gaming, any FS/WTB forums (mostly electronics and sports FS).
(The more you list, the better the chances)
Any experience at moderating: Use to mod/assistant mod a few sites back in the day (Quake 3, CS pre-1.3, Wolfenstein ET forum boards). Also was high up in a couple of clans (sort of like moderating). Got out of it originally for HS purposes, but I only have 5 college classes left until I graduate. Also ran two webpages back in early '01 for school and a personal business. Also started the TF Zombie Group.
What do you think the main job of a moderator is: The main job of a moderator is to keep the online environment peaceful and clean. If people aren't having a good time on your website, they won't be back. If people don't come back to your website, it won't be up for long! A moderator must be a member as well as a leader, and be inviting to new members. They must also come out to the events, and not think of themselves as being a "higher up" and get power trips. They are members of the site too, and have to step into a situation without bias to remedy the problem with as little drama as possible!
Why should you become a moderator: I think that I have a good feel for the Tampaforums site (as well as TR). I have been a member for a good many years, and have included my input and helped diffuse situations prior. I am an active poster, and come out to events when I can. I donate to the site because I realize the importance it has in my life. I know most of the people on both sites, and on all sides of Pinellas/Hillsborough. I have dealt and interacted with a lot of different types on TF/TR, just to hang out, or sell/buy things. Plus, I'm on TF at LEAST 1 hour a day spread out over 5 times!
List users who do not like you: I can only remember 1 person on the site that I ever had a problem with: tampastick. I have the PM's for that one!
I realise there may be no response to this post: which is no problem. I know people are seeking to be mods every day, and it is a hard decision to come to on who is ready for the task. Everyone has different tastes, and the current admins/mods have to go with their gut instinct on who is best for the site. Plus, with as many users as TF/TR has, not everyone may know who I am! :)
