View Full Version : Where do i get the power source to amp??

ok i am very stupid to when it comes to audio
where do i get the power souce to the amp??
do i have to run the power wire from battery
and through firewall or i can use the power source from
head unit??
i am sorry to ask such a dump question...
audio is never my thing..

definitely from the battery. Run it through the firewall or the top of the wheel passage (much harder but at least no holes!) and run it to the back of the car. This should be your power.

From the headunit you won't get much if not any power to power the amp.
What you do is route for the remote turn-on lead. The headunit will send out a 12v signal to turn the amp on when the headunit does (to prevent the amp from staying on all the time and draining your battery).

Ground it to the trunk's metal floor, make sure to paper sand a point and drill it down! :P make sure its a solid as fuck connection, don't let it get loose.
