Sat. night fun...

well went out sat. night in the girls car, and a couple people wanted to run the fake mustang so went to the house and switched cars. get back to the parking lot and off we go to the spot, a few good runs take place before i get my runs in....

1st run, me vs my old turbo neon(97 neon 420a turbo) we agree on a first gear roll with him getting the hit(neither of us had a horn) so we get out on the track and get next to each other and i wait for him to take the hit, off he goes and i lay into it right after. the neon jumps out about a car due to my horrible 1st gear turbo lag. stays about the same untill middle of third i just start pulling away from him. turns out he blew a charge pipe....

2nd run, same neon after we fix the charge pipe he wants to try again, so we line up and he takes the hit again, so i lay into it again. same thing he jumps about a car, then in 3rd gear i pull about a half car back on him, but he wins by a half car...

3rd run, 01-02 cobra with bolt ons and HIDS!:lol: anywho we line up from a dig. flagger drops and were off, i get a slight holeshot advantage on him, pull a lil more in first and a lil bit in second, id say by the 1/4 mile mark i was out maybe a car, but we stay in it and he pulls on me and ends with him about a 1/2 car infront when we let out...

oh and when i ran the cobra, when i let out at the end of the race my car decided to shut off...i was like hmmm...weird, start it back up and its missing and breaking up horribly, shuts off again and i coast to a place i can pull over....car just starts smoking and spewing water/oil everywhere, i guess somehow i pulled the almost impossible, and broke the bottom end that holds 500+ WHP stock, with my meezly 250ish WHP or so....owell shit happens, time to make some real power now! :D

all in all a good night, i believe there is video of the second run with the neon, and a vid of the run with the cobra....

Your car looked good before it broke. I didn't know how bad it was broken til after I left. Hope you get the thing fixed soon.

ya me too! :lol: owell it will prolly take me a while to get it going again...who knows i may put a carbed 302 in it for a lil while till i can make a good 4 banger set up for it

SVO 2.3T Many with 150K+ mile blocks have seen 400+whp. People say you'll bend the rods and have "automatic lowering compression" before you can break the motor completely. They must have meant with meth or race gas :lol:

Just turbo a 5.0 now.:D

yes i had a nice lil chat with him....lol i was arguing with his ass, he was talking bout giving me tickets and im like for what im sitting here with a broke car, he looks at my tires and says "oh your tires dont have any tread on them" i was like "there DOT approved says so right on the side wall wanna see?" oh man i was giving him a hell of a hard time :lol: it was fun!

and as for the bottom end, it is a full swap out of an 88 thunderbird turbo coupe 2.3T as stated above they reliably make 400+ WHP without problems...ask Plazma here on the boards about these motors;)

and bryan i would like to turbo a 5.0, but the 2.3 is much more fun, and can still easily make the same power amounts....

Told Richard and I that he was going to find out which mustangs were racing and the drivers were going to jail and the cars were going to be towed. ya he said he got a call about me racing my mustang, i told him he was full of shit cuz i had been sitting there broken for a while...and he was like well i got a call about a mustang out here racing, and i told him i wasnt the only mustang in the area. he didnt like me bein a smart ass to him, but there wasnt anything he could do about it...i was having fun with him, but everyone was freaking out telling me to shut up and stuff....ive been pulled over enough i know my limits with them....lol

Yea, talked to Alan Moore today, he said, sure without the proper tune and octane, any motor will blow up. He said it had to of suffered some pretty major knock to do that though. He's 2.3T ran 7.6 without an IC :-o
