i heard that it was possible to actually match a faded paint job on a car. for instance, i have a 94 gsr, factory white paint job and it has faded over the years. my side skirts, front bumper and part of a door panel need some body work and obviously a repaint. is it possible for me to just get those few pieces painted and not have it stand out compared to the rest of my car? if so, where can this be done, i haven't had successful searches so far. thanks ahead of time!

finish master off florida will look at your car and take a computer laser hand held machine and hold it up to the paint then scan its colors and shades for a exact match to the faded areas of the car...then mix paint to match the computer read rather then use the paint code....

computer matching cost about 20$ extra... be sure to use dupont "chroma base" for the base coat and chroma clear for the clear its the best and will be a accurate match to the computers colors ...

if your doing a door ,skirts and frontbumper... a quart should be fine... becuase your gonna add the chroma base "basemaker" its a 1:1 ratio half base half base maker. So you will end up with 2 quarts of base coat...

Pick up the clear and activator...
A quart just to be on the safe side .That one is a 1:4 ratio.
so the clear will be one quart and the activator will be 1/4 of a quart...

you should have plenty of paint to do it and maybe even do it twice if you mess things up...my exp is to have a little extra left over then have not enough.besides youll have paint for doing other work later of you get scratches and dings...
prep clean surface tape car then
I would say mix 100ml of base then 100ml of base maker .be sure to stir it really well with a stick use a paper strainer then pour it into the gun..
should be enough for the first coat..
spray allow 10-12 minutes flash time (dry time)
while that drying empty the gun run thinner through it spray it out..by that time your ready to mix another 100ml base 100ml base maker.
do 2-3 coats what ever you feel looks like a nice even spread over the surface.I usually do 3 and you have plenty of paint.
let it flash clean gun

get the clear ready to go pour into the sprayer 120ml clear ,30ml activator
spray allow to flash, clean gun do it over untill you reach desired look usually 3 coats...

bure sure to clean the gun right after your done..
also be sure to have a moisture catch on your compressor line so you wont get any water in the paint.. its so freaking hot out you would be surprised how much condinsation can form under pressure..

also using a gravity gun 25-30lbs psi should work if your using a hvlp gun then 10-12 psi should work besure to have a psi regulator at the bottom of the gun...

If it your first time have fun with it... if you a little dry spot or two you can wetsand it down with 2000 grit and buff it to shine...
btw when the sell you the stuff ask um for some stir sticks and strainers they throw in the litle stuff for free...

most guys will be more then helpfull and anwser any of your questions at the desk related to painting
