I don't remember where I left of the old build but here is the second part, I think I finished before I started my new box. Anyways enjoy!
The plan:
-2 12" BL's in 4.8ft^3 net at 32hz with ~60in^2 of port.
-Box will be built, then panel'd off the trunk with a flase wall, false floor's, side panels, and Plexi coverings with the Cadillac, Fi, and Sundown emblems laser etched INSIDE the plexi...http://www.caraudiojunkyard.com/forum/images/smilies/Main/cool1.gif
-Everything will be covered in red suade.
The box is huge! We had to make a new false floor and lift the box up on 2x4s to get it in where we wanted it.

Instead of the subs mounting to the wall, we decided to mount teh subs to the box, and have the false wall be an overlay. The wall sits over the BL's metal frame gasket and allows for the surround the travel unimpedded:

Waiting on the plexi to get back, have to finish the side pieces to go behind the wrapped side pieces and have to glass a piece to go in the front.

Looks nice. Is that a dead spot under the port though?
daaaamn, nice work :bigthumb:
Is this a completely recently done project? I'm asking because i thought i remember hearing a story about you jumping in your trunk to wire your shit up in the rain :lol:

There is a trim piece to go around where the port is, you can't wrap that area and expect it to stay, espeically with the air these subs move lol.
And that wiring in the rain story was like a year ago lol.
EDIT: I just realized what you meant about the port, yes it is a dead spot.

I had it all in for SBN, not any of the panels except the wall it was pretty darn loud lol. It was flexing the store windows on the strip lol, my boy was like in front of me pointing over n I was like wtf turned it down n he's like your flexing the windows!! and he told me it was shaking his side mirrors lol.
Also they may look smaller cuz the gaskets are covered up.

I cant help it every time I see a faceplate that totally seals off the trunk from passenger compartment as being a waste of power.

Eh trunk is pretty much sealed off from the car anyways. There even without it there is very little room for the air to get into the car.

i would have ported it thru the rear deck!

When you port a car thru the rear and make it look real clean, come talk.. It is extremely difficult. I would have to cut my rear deck, glass it, and then perfect measure out a port to fit right up into it. Then make a new back piece for my rear deck to make it look nice. I don't really have an extra 100 hours of labor.

might be able to use the existing speaker holes and grills and just build the box to line up with them.

BTW where do you get your sundowns from?? and are you pleased with them??

I love my Sundowns, I bought one offline and 2 from a CA.com member. But TJ Elite Customs is a retailer for them.
But today I started working on it and there are a few imperfection that we wanted to redo. So we decided fuck it we are going to do a blow thru port. After sitting on it and looking at the car it may actually be not too bad. All we have to do is build a new box and bust out the hack saw and do some glassing.
When all said it done, it will be oen DAMN loud trunk car. Thinking 147ish on music.
