Default Fiberglass repair?????

Ok I just got a fiberglass hood, it has some damage and I need to fix it, id like to try it myself, I know I can pshycally do it myself BUT dont know the stuff I need to buy. What all do I need to buy to fix it?? I would just think the fiberglass repair crap they sell at home depot, but im prob wrong so thats why I am posting this. Thanks

The damage is nothing major or nothing huge. Theres one piece thats about an inch long and some spider cracking that when I run my finger nail in it doesnt even catch anything so there not deep I guess

Well, i'd suggest finishmaster.Actually any boat, auto store should have you covered.A fibreglass mat, resin etc is easy to have.Just tell the desk man (tom in finishmaster if he's still there) what your damage is.

The one i go to is off 66th st in pinellas. If its not near you, just open the yellow pages and check under auto body supply. For some reason the boat ones are more expensive, atleast i've heard.

you can use the fiberglass repair kits they sell at walmart. it is EASY! I do alot of fiberglass work on body kits and hoods and all kinds of other crap for friends. Its cheap and works great. I sugest you use the right amount of catalyst or it will either A, never harden or B, set up too fast to work.... Make sure you degrease the area very well under the hood and do your repair on the bottom and build a layer or 2 or more to build structural integrity. sand the top where the spider cracks are and if they are kinda deep under the paint, use a glazing/finishing putty to fill in the grooves. Sand and clean and prep very well for paint... G/L!
