i'm looking to get a fuel setup in a 2nd gen rx-7.

I just need the parts... such as fuel cell ( drift friendly), braided lines, fittings, and external or internal fuel pump and regulator. the car currently does not run, but i can take measurements.

possible to get a qoute or will i have to bring the car in?

If you can supply us with the measurements then there is no need for the car to be here. The only measurements you really need are the length of the fuel line and the amount of space you have to accommodate the fuel cell. If you can supply me with those measurements I will shoot you a quote via PM.

12inches tall, 36 inches from driver to passenger side, 18 inches from front to rear

thats the space i have to work with in the trunk...

for the fuel line, that would depend on internal or external fuel pump. i'd say 10 feet so i can have spare room to work with either way.

Due to the height limit the only size I can most likely get you will be an RCI 5 gallon cell measuring 13'' x 13'' x 8'' for $149.99

Not me personally but I can't imagine it would be too hard. I'll look around tomorrow morning and see if I get any ideas

Dual tank setup - hmmm, just doesn't really sound efficent to me in anyway.

The only way that sounds right to me is to run separate fuel pumps with the separate cells and have the fuel lines Y out together.

Sump both tank and have an external pump. Feeding is the easy part.

Deciding the return and how to make sure that the tanks stay level is a bit more interesting. The way we do it on the diesel rigs would probably be the safest bet. You'll need an extra sump line between the two tanks to make sure that one does not start passing air to the feed lines.

edit and you'll need another line between the top of the tanks to equalize pressure. /edit

No reason it wouldn't work. No real ineficiency I can think of besides extra work and more money.

My $.02.

Ok... I'm going home now. bye!

dual does sound a bit tricky. i'm sure i can come up with a nice custom way for a single fuel cell to fit in there. a bit of cutting here and there and voila.

it would just have to be no taller than 12 inches...

If your down to cut up the car is your spare tire well in the hatch?just square it out and build a box for it to sit in.Thats what my friend had to do with his 280Z.

Wow your really limited on space!Well how bad do you need that passenger seat, If your real hardcore the thought of riding with 10 gallons of race fuel right next to you wont bother you and if your like me you'll still smoke in the car, J/K.Good luck man hope yopu figure it out.

hmmm, i'll be running on pump gas most of the time. need a passenger seat because its also a daily driver. i'd like 10-14 gallon tank... having to refill more than once a week eats cash like crazy.

i found a tank by RCi

15 gallons specs are 30 x 12 x 9 JCWhitney lists the part number as EAG272564F

i think that will fit snug. i'd need to weld plates over the current tank access plates. then put in either a nice sheet of wood or metal for a good mounting surface to keep the tank center and level.

can i get prices on an external pump and just some high pressure fuel line with #8 AN fittings ( #8 male AN are supplied with the tank from JCW)? Also if you guys would be able to get your hands on that cell or either of these two

15 gallon 30 x 9 x 12 EAG272560F <<< Also in summit racing with part # RCI-2161A

12 gallon 18 x 12 x 12 EAG272556F

I thought about mounting it under the car, but i need to drop the stock tank and take measurements. I cant do that in my apartment complex....

well, i have a list of parts i need other than the fuel setup. I cannot find them on the net for good prices due to shipping fees.

reclinable racing seats (momo to match the steering wheel), haltech e6k or e6x, t66 or t60-1 turbo, two 40mm wastegates (maybe 38's), a nice strong BOV (doesnt matter what sound it makes), a nice set of wheels, clutch type lsd, a good fmic (turbulators inside and out), and the list really does go on...... oh yea, i found a bodykit that i would need painted along with the entire car, inside and out.

Do you guys do custom roll cages?

Should i make another thread for what i need or just PM a list to someone? i'm looking to get all this done by the end of may (daniels supra inspired me to get off my ass and finally get to work on this car)

okay, fuel setup is done. come to find out... the S5 T2 motor I have needs to be rebuilt... I'm selling it and the tranny and driveshaft along with the ecu and harness for it.

My next question is how much can I pick up a sr20det, 1jz, 2jz, or rb motorset for? I'm leaning more towards the sr20det because i'd like to be up and running again pretty soon. SR's would require minimal modification compared to the others and i've installed standalones on them before.
