okay! well tonight i was trying to hook up my HID kit but ran into a problem. on the instructions it says to change your fuse to 20's well after i did that i started the car up and noticed it was running really weird. The rpms started rising on its on and the check engine light came on. Swtiched the fuses back to 15 and still have the same problem. The car idles weird... when i take off it putters then starts to go.....

could it be a spark plug? Im lost.....

Car is idleing a little over 1k rpm....

when something weird happens to my car, first thing i do is reset the ECU, if it continues, i take it to my trusted mechanic

 

ive reset my ecu and it still acting weird. check all my fuses and there all good.

 

check the code.

 

okay so yesterday i got time to work on the car! jeff (snowman) came over and we hooked up the obd to it. p0519 code came up. Which means the damn TPS sensor was acting up. so i took the TPS sensor houseing off and cleaned it. also took the intercooler off and spray some throttle body cleaner in the throttle. hooked everything back up and let the car idle for about 5 min. problem went away.

If anyone has this problem PM and ill help you out. there are a couple of steps you have to do....

 

the problem might not just be your tps. generally when that happens it's you're IAC valve. which would cause the car to idle right at a little over 1k. the cleaner will help it, but it could happen again. just a heads up if it starts again.

 

ya! but i took the iac valve off and cleaned it really well.... cars still running good.

 

good call, just watch for it. they act up.
