After reading up on the Autocross rules, I have come to a conclusion: If you want to have any fun with your car, welcome to the Modified class. Also, I don't see any notes on forced induction in the modified class. I assume thats not allowed, right?

you need to re-read those rules!
lots can be done to a car without putting it in modified classes & yes, forced induction is legal & will bump you to in most instances street mod.
Actually sm2.
But it looks like a forced induction 5.7L Corvette technically will need to be at least 3020 lbs to qualify for sm2.
Locally, no one is going to care about minimum weights.
Do you have an interior? Are you running DOT legal tires?
If so, SM2 (Street Modified 2) will be fine.
If you want to have any fun with your car, welcome to the Modified class.
 Quote of the week!

Actually, I'd probably be running my S2000 for Autocross, the 'vette would be fun, but there's already a bunch of work I've done to the engine. Plus the S2000 handles pretty damn tight

If you want to have some fun with your car....
Take some classes and learn how to drive it.
A stock Cavalier (even if it's Muddy) can be a lot of fun.
