don't get springs. coilovers. there are very few springs that will go lower than 2 inches or 2.5 inches.

ksport springs are a fairly close 2 inch drop all the way around.
80-100 bux to your door on ebay...
Plenty of really fucking good drivers rocked the fuck out of cut springs, plenty of really respectable people in the nissan community rocked the fuck out of cut springs.
I know for a fact, Bi polar never cut his springs or did any type of suspension upgrade on his 240, and now drives a civic. So his opinion doesnt count and for the most part I would consider it bullshit.
Then you have the l33test peoples who can only say one thing, get coilovers... Coils are the suggested route yes, but not necessary and probably not within your budget at this time. Do not, and I repeatm, do not buy blown coils cause their cheap....
You want your car lower?
Cut the fucking springs, be careful and dont kill yourself doing it either.
Next step spend some cash on a decent spring, shock combo.
Save and buy coilovers.

shut the fuck up. just because your a fucking mod doesnt mean i cant do that. cut springs is just about the dumbest thing you could do. why is it that all those "respectable people" as you put it, will say the same thing i did, and say that cut springs arent the way to go? maybe because its a dumb fucking idea to cut them.

it will just feel shitty and unsafe. yeah it will bounce pretty bad. id say live with the high ride and save up for a decent used set of coils.

Listen cut springs will do two things, less the dampening of the spring, and lower your car.
The more you cut off the spring the bouncier it will be yes, cause well less resistence.
Cut one full ring off, drive it, see if you like it.
If your struts/shocks are old replace them, cause lowering your car and not maintaining the dampening will blow struts...
It works until your ready.
If this is your drift beater, do it.
If its your daily driver and you dont care, do it.
If you care more about what everyone thinks, dont do it.
Sup to you, good luck with whatever.
Strongly suggest springs and shock combo, cutting is ok and works, just new shit last longer and is more stable for hard driving.
Its the same fucking debat about welded diffs.
The sponsered fags who dont pay for their shit and the elitest fucks, will say welded is ghey.
and list all the bad.
The ones who want to drift better, learn more, and dont have the cash, weld the shit and drive the shit...
Good luck bro, but seriously take these armchair warriors with a grain of salt.

Cutting the springs will slightly stiffen the rate. Stiffer rate requires more damping from the shock to prevent bouncing. Cutting one coil would be ok, as it probably would not cause the combo to be underdampened.
The spring has nothing to do with damping, and coilovers will only be appropriate when you outgrow the stock suspension.

i cut my old springs on my 13, but i had kyb agx struts. dont know how much of a dif it made, but the lower car was defffff worth the slightly lower ride quality(which was minascule) but then again it might have been because of the kybs.
IMO cut them, if you dont feel comfortable/like them, you can find new stock ones or ebay springs for 100 bucks to replace them lol. g/l bud

i have eibah springs and i would say it lowered my car about 2 1/4 all the way around. then i cut the eibach's and the ride isnt all that much worse. plus my s13 is dropped pretty hard now and still rides good. theres different opinions for everything.
