MY WRX VS Typ R swapped EG/ Cobalt SS/ Boosted SI

Well, I had a good run last night and some over the weekend.

First run was last night with a built type R swapped EG hatch with 100 shot. We ran 3 times, he did not spray. 1st run was a 30-35 roll. He honked it off but he was at my back door:? He hit it and I waited for him to pull up even, once he did I hit it. He already had the momentum so he pulled out a car, I slammed 3rd and pulled even, hit 4th and started pulling out and he shutdown.

2nd run. we went from a 40 roll.This time we started pretty even. He honked it off and hit it......by top of 3rd I had about 1 1/2 to 2 cars on him.

3rd run was from a 20 ish roll. First gear. We were side by side all the way through 3rd. At the top of 3rd and beginning of 4th I started pulling out on him and we shutdown.

Very cool guy, showed me his setup. Has to be the cleanest EG hatch I have seen around here. Beautiful paint, polished everything under the hood, and of course the bottle in the back. He had a LHT performance sticker on the car. Nice car for sure.


Next run was over the weekend on my way to S&R. I ran into a Cobalt SS with at least exhaust......other mods unknown. We ran twice from a 2nd gear 40 roll. Both runs I had about 4 cars by the top of 3rd and shutdown. The owner gave me a thumbs up.

Same day I ran a turboed red SI. We ran once from a 60 roll. We were pretty much dead even through 3rd then he missed 4th and it was game over. Due to traffic we never got another run in. Nice ride though.

yeah, but I like my tranny too much. If I win by a roll or it is fairly close....within 1 car or so, then I can assume the outcome of a dig.

whats all done to your wrx? a stock type r hatch would a good driver is pretty quick bone stock. i would imagine a stock itr hatch with 100 shot an traction is easily a mid to low 12 sec car.

he has alot of work done to the WRX, i helped him do alot of the stuff to it. but i was surprized when i first heard the story as well. a built ITR eg should run low 12's off the bottle, and hit 11's on the bottle. hell, i seen a stock 1.6 SOHC run 12.4 on a 100 shot, the same as this guy with a built ITR motor? but there could be many factors, maybe hes a shitty driver, shitty build. or maybe he built a low compression motor for boost/spray, so even tho its built, still doesnt produce more power than a stock ITR without its power adder.

Ive driven "bolt on" wrx's and they always seemed slow to me from a roll.Maybe you have a freak scooby.

i know, but lets just do a full out run with zero excuses at all. our first run you put five cars on me, i had a 300lb passenger. and whether you want to admit it or not, a torqeless honda is effected by that. last run i jumped a car, held it thru 2nd and 3rd, then you came flying up in fourth. then you said you were granny shifting. niether of our cars are running 100%. lets just do a full out run to see what the true-true difference is(plus it will be fun to finally know). cause the ITR you raced was either built low compression, or had a bad driver. because its pretty sad when his eg runs low 12's on a built ITR motor with 100 shot, when you can run the same time with a stock 1.6 SOHC with a 100 shot(same motor you had in your old civic)

we can do a dig, as long as we do a slow roll, it would be nice to see how many cars you pull on me from each. and our rolls are not the same, because you didnt pull the same for each run.

and no, im not taking anything away from your car, its badass. what im saying is that he should be running alot better for what he has done to the car. my car with a good tune and slicks should be a 13.0 car, and my shit is stock. many people have hit 12's with stock ITR motors.

Ive driven/worked on wrx's/sti's and almost any performance japanese made import.Yes i do work at a dealership and that has nothing to do with me owning 11 1g's.My fastest bolt on stock turbo 1g ran 27lbs of boost and i got sick of breaking shit(since your asking if any of my cars could go 13's).Are you on the stock turbo?We did a jdm (vr34?) sti turbo upgrade once on a older wrx and it was pretty quick afterwards.Good luck and post what happens with the race with cory and maybe you can run my slow civak eventually since i sent out my turbo out to g-pop shop this morning.;)

A eg hatch w/ an R swap is a 13 sec car unless its really gutted and on slicks. On the spray it should be 12s. good runs either way.

if he has 215whp in his hatch, he should be hittin mid/high 12's, and therefore be a good race for you. my hatch put down 176whp, and thats when it was running good, before we ever raced.
