Ok my dam oil pressure gauge is reading really low . It stays around 20 psi. Does anyone have any tips on how to check my oil pump to see if it is bad? Do you think I should just go buy a new gauge and try that first?

What kind of car is this? Dont think you can check the oil pump, low oil pressure could be a couple things. Thicker oil will band aid it.

It is a 97 altima . It has a turbonetics t3-t4 turbo on it. I haven't even pulled the car out of my garage since I put this engine in it. I am using 10w30 in it now. On the last engine I was using 5w30...

is it a mechanical gauge that you have put in your self if so check for any leaks or kinks in the line that can do it if not i would suggest on seeing how acurate the gauge is if it is accurate and it still reads 20 psi put another oil pump in it .

Ya . I bought the gauge new from autometer. It only has about 5000 miles on it. I know it worked fine before I pulled out the last engine. I don't know if from sitting for 3 months mite have messed it up. All I can say is that I hope it is not the pump!
