just hooked up my Alpine deck because a local shop said my old HU internal amp was fried.
But im getting the same reults from this new one too....it powers up, i can hearthe CD turning inside the HU, but i still get no sound from it or the radio.
my fuses are fine, im not running an amp. I cant figure out what the problem is.
Im not running an antenna either, and im only running 2 speakers off of this HU...what could be the problem?

Turn up the volume?
I know Alpine HU's have a setting that turns the internal amplifier on/off, maybe that? Read your manual, check it out. Maybe you were flipping through the settings and turned it off...

the alpine may need to be reset. use a ballpoint pen and reset it first.
After that, check under the rear deck, the drivers and passenger seats, and under the floorboards for a stock amplifier that may be disabled.
Bench test the head unit and if it tests good, run new wires to the speakers.

no a very reputable shop told me it was fried, i bought it there because i had a couple gift cards left from christmas.
i messed around with everything trying to find an internal amp on/off mode, but couldnt find anything, but i havent looked at the manual either, its kinda far from me right now at my house

run new wires to the speakers and call it a day.
You will spend more time trying to troubleshoot this than simply eliminating the only element that could cause problems.

Oh, ok. Well if its anything like my HU, hold down the mute button until the extra menu comes up, scroll to the right about three or so times, it will ask if you want the internal or internal amp turned on or off. check that.
After that just run new speaker wires anyways, it'll probably be better than your current wires anyways

Well if you knew more than these guys, why are you asking THEM! Serioiusly, I don't know why people ask for help, but don't want it when its given to them.
Have you tested your speakers outside the car yet, to make sure they are not grounding out? That would cause a no sound issue as well. More than likely, a piece of rust / metal / wire is crossing one of the speaker wires and causing this.

post up the model number or an ad for it so we can all take a look at it. not to sound stupid but make sure there even is a built in amp.

Yea make sure ur HU isnt a pre amp deck only(Requires external amp), I fried my stock amp in my truck(Or blew the fuse) so I just ran all new wires to the speakers... It took less time to do that then it did for me to find the stock amp which most newer cars/trucks,ect, have in them!

Use A Ohm Meter On The Speakers - Wires That Connect To The Hu, Make Sure They Are Not Grounding Out!, One Of Your Speakers May Have Gone Bad Or The Voice Coil Lead Has Grounded Out Cause Either Hu To Go Into Protect Mode - Reason For No Sound!
