March 10th meet...the last one

I'm afraid that the time has come to end the monthly meet. It seems that Oldsmar might decide to start enforcing a poorly written noise ordinance, that we would clearly be in violation of. This ordinance is part of the zoning code, so it would be more than just fines I would be facing.

So, anyone that has ever wanted to come to one, this one will be it, at least at my shop.

While there are no guarantees, I don't think anyone will be sitting around, waiting to give tickets. Here's what happened. We've done a couple of loud systems recently, and one of my neighboors complained about our 'testing'. I did some research, and found out that there are 'acceptable noise limits' tied to my zoning here. The good news is that because we are commercial, I'm pretty much ok between 8 and 6, M-F, so my day to day is not an issue...well, actually it could be, due to the poorly written ordinance, but I'm pretty sure I'll be fine. However, on weekends, expecially after 6 pm, its a whole other story.

I've had no official warnings, but I've always tried to stay on the good side of the City, and they have in turn been very easy to work with. I have no desire to strain the relationship.

When I put all this together with the fact that it will be hot again soon, and the fact that while fun, the meet has not really met my expectations, it seemed to be a good time to end it.

wow end of an era that sucks man. maybe it's time to start doing car audio shows and start charging to enter the sound comp. I have been organizing the Bob Evans car shows for the past 2 months and it has been great. I do the 3rd Saturday not to conflict with the audio meet. Alot of people have asked if we would be doing metering I have no answer to that I will be there for this one just been really busy.

oh i see.....THAT was the answer to my question....i understood wut he said, before, i just wanted 2 kno somethin 4 sure......but i just think thats stupid cause last month was my first time ther, and its seems mostly just warehouse-like places surroundin u, and its not like ther in business after 6 o clock of anythin........

I got to meet a few people, was pretty fun, for those of you saw me I drive the white spl truck (joking btw I did a 135.4 and lost 5 bucks in a bet that said I wouldnt break 135) kinda sad that its gonna be the last, with I would have bought a decent amp and built a ported box to meter. hard to work with a small single cab truck. hope to see you guys at another meet somewhere.
