Transmission gurus, I have a question!
I bought what I THOUGHT was a PA Supercomp c4...now...the thing arrives and some things look...wrong.
The servo doesn't say PA on it. It doesn't say anything, in fact.
The transmission pan says BTE on it.
There are no markings, stamps, serials, or anything that say anything except the stock Ford core logo.
The input shaft looks like its a 2 peice. I say this because the smaller peice that goes inside isn't there. I count a total of 31 splines on the outside of the larger shaft that IS there.
Am I right to think that theres no way in hell this is a PA Supercomp? Its definatly an older model, whatever it is...Did PA ever make such shoddy peiced together Supercomps?

Hmm....well mine is definatly a C4...I guess there wasn't a time when PA built a Super Comp and didn't put their logo on the servo or the pan, and used an MTE pan, eh?

Cuz they're closed. I'm going to call tomorrow and Bryan knows somebody that we're gonna have tear it apart and give it a look-through.

Ive emailed PA twice with questions regarding my transmission. they have always replied the next business day with a clear and concise answer.

We have used BTE (BTW?) pans and have made transmissions with servos without
our logo.
However, I could not be sure it was one of our units without having one of
our builders tear it down. There are certain "signature" things that would
only be done by our builders they would be able to see to be positive.
