A friend had forgotten the name but told me there's a really nice shifter kart track somewhere in Tampa off of SR 41. I've been trying to find it online all day, or any other good kart tracks in the bay area, but haven't had much success. Is anyone here into kart racing and can give me some direction? I've never been before but I've done some track days recently in my regular car and now I think I have the motorsports bug so I want to do some karting since it's local and easily accessible vs driving 100+ miles to get to a real track, and then only when it's available.

I went there a year ago, and it wasn't Malibu GP anymore, AND they turned the grand prix track into a go-kart track. I was sad. They ruined it.
I need to check out this place sometime...

TBGP is cool. The Karts are torquey enough to be fun and the course is challenging. Good timing system. Lots of fun all around.

all you guys are comparing Malibu Grand Prix/TBGP to shifter cart racing? :lmao:
TS Racing's parts trailer at Dirt Devils Speedway (http://www.tsracing.com/Trailer.html)
It's on SR52 about 5 or so miles W of I-75

No, we're not making a comparison. The topic just drifted in that direction because that's what's available close by.

Oh, you can go to Ocala and rent a "watered down" shifter kart. It just doesnt shift! they are still fast enough to mess you up if you dont know what your doing and crash..
