Code Alarm CA-670 into a 1995 Cadillac Eldorado with a PLXR bypass.

I am pretty sure a have all the wires I need/want hooked up correctly. PLXR will program. I tested the siren (Songbird SB-1) by grounding signal wire, makes noise.

I get nothing from alarm, no lights flash, no siren sounds..... Bad brain?

When I test the ground wire in the 22 pin harness, it reads 1.88v, is that normal? When I ground the wire I get nothing, but when I remove the ground, the doors lock....

me thinks you should have payed me to install it.

I have a ca670(and have installed dozens) though so maybe I can help troubleshoot...

You probably fried the brain if you hooked live positive inputs to the brain without a good ground. The codes seem to be sensitive to this.

What are you metering with? where are you metering? did you use a test light or a dmm?

What is showing 1.88v in respect to the unit's ground? the positive lead or the chasis? are you sure its a live ground spot? (use a test light with direct connections to the battery terminals)

Did you hook the fuses back in?

Did you remove/reconnect the ground?

Did you turn the ignition to "on" before you put the fuses back in? The alarm will freeze itself if you dont.

Do you have the 2way antenna hooked up? did you damage the wire(check continuity from both ends at every pin)

I waited a month and a half for you to come install it.... PMd you multiple times, last excuse was too many point on your license...:P

Antenna and all wires are securely connected. I used a DMM to test all the wires. When I meter the ground wire in the 22 pin harness, grounding the DMM at the factory undash point, I read a constant 1.88v.

Didnt have the ignition "on" when I put the fused in, may be the problem...

fuck! unless u live in like sarasota ill come help u with it, I totally forgot to get at you =(

What do you mean factory undash part??? You should have a ground from the sanded chasis in the drivers kickpanel - nowhere else. you shouldnt be reading any voltage from ground to ground. thats a 100% sure sign of a bad ground. absolutely before you do anything else, remove that ground..

If you put power to the brain without the key in "run" or "on" then the alarm would be clicking like crazy for 30-60 seconds. You would hear that and they it would not respond until you started it again.

Start with the basics, supply +12v to your lights and verify they flash. put ground to the locks(if they are triggered by ground) and make sure they work.

But before all that - make sure your battery isnt dead.

Had to put it on hold and take most of the wiring out, I had a job interview today and I didnt want to have any trouble with it starting or anything..

I left the antenna and some the harder to run wires in and just taped them up for now, will update when I try it again....
