hey, Nick, just got word that JEnnings is holding a all womens trackday on April 14th, maybe you can bet Lonna to come up, it would be a great time for her to ride then, there will be plenty of instruction/control riding

and then onthe 15th, they are having a private rental by Turn One Performance, John-the onwer of Trun One, has already made plans for all the instructors that will be working the 14th to come to his day and help out and he is limiting his group to 50 riders (not including instructors) this will give anyone that wants plenty of instruction/lead follow time, possibly have a 2-1 ratio which you may never have that oppertunity, where normal track days are open to 45 per group and only a handfull of intructors.
if ya want, I can get more info. the cost has not been set yet, but it wont be that much more than a regular trackday and for the number of instructors that will be there, its well worth it.

Why not? if you carry enough cornerspeed into 1, you can wack the shit out of thethrottle coming out of the apex, brake less going into 1... you can keep the throttle pinned going into 2... just make damn sure you short shift, you dont want to be redlining into 2

I did just that coming out of T1 trying to carry more speed into T2 and lost grip on the rear & got into a vicious tank slapper. I rolled to a stop in the grass before I knew what else happened... :(

Kawi, I would offer, but things are so freakin messed up right now, I dont know if I am coming and going, theres 3 in my party but we are taking 3 bikes and a rhino, 2 trailers, and 2 trucks, problem is that was are coming home with 3 bikes 2 trailers and 2 trucks but dont know how I could squeeze a 4th bike in there for the way home., I have never sat 2 bikes in the bed of my truck , shouldnt have aproblem but dont have any mounting point in the middle (yet)

yea one of the tricks is going through the entire track using the brakes at 13 and 1 only. I hit a 1:21 during practice and after my crash i lost confinence into 3, 4, 5 so i lost a second and a half there, just that little bit cost me the race :(

Buying all the leathers, new rear tire, boots, gas for the bike and trip, room for the night, track fee, food... it'll be around $800-1000.00.. but once you get passed the first trip.. won't be to bad..

when you race ccs they give you transponders so it gives you your quickest lap time of the session, but i just bought an XT lap timer and should be here soon. Yea 3 4 5 you go in there no brakes and on the gas into 4, i looked at my tach one time and it said 168 so really it was around 155mph through 3 4 5 :-o lol hopefully ill be quicker on my new bike, i just sold my gsxr 1000 today and im getting a 07 600rr

Absolutely... the skills you pick up will help you on the street... as for tires.
I owned a 95 EX250 & I can tell you the tires it came with back then offered plenty of grip for that bike's weight & power.

check the Pirelli's I have a set on my wife's 2fiddy, and its been on the track before.
when I get some time I will go out into the gargage and get the tire size for ya.

$99 for a Monday track day. ($125 prereg for open TD on weekends)
$60 to rent leathers.
$5 gate fee.

Figure adding in your fuel and food and it is time well spent and not that expensive considering. For the first time up there, you don't NEED to buy leathers, race tires, tire warmers, etc.

Why not? if you carry enough cornerspeed into 1, you can wack the shit out of thethrottle coming out of the apex, brake less going into 1... you can keep the throttle pinned going into 2... just make damn sure you short shift, you dont want to be redlining into 2

Feeling better every day. Had the wrist checked out and the doc says I may have torn some of the soft tissues in the wrist, not a break...prescribed some anti-inflamatory meds and its doin good.

Talked to State Farm and I know what the bike needs but I have to get a written estimate. It looks like all the gear and accessories will be covered as well. So hopefully I'll be putting it back together soon. :cool:

I dont like T2... I thought i highsided 2 weeks ago during a race (saved it and rode off track) and my opponent after the race told me sparks where flying out of my pegs at that turn, so i guess it hopped my rear wheel :-o . I hate T2

Well im up against a bunch of rich old guys who have completely decked out bikes that are faster than mine, so the way im counter that (since im poor) i lost 20lbs to have a stronger power to weight ratio... it was a pretty smart idea that worked great so its how i evened out the field.

saw Nick and vtec out there tearing it up, Randy you shoulda come up just to soak some of it in (even if you couldnt ride). the both of you will soon be getting bumped up a class, pretty soon you'll be passing me

Got a pretty good :-o about mid-morning, someone lowsided in front of me in T8 and I almost hit him, I paniced grabbed a handful of brake (enough to pull a stoppie) but didnt lose it, just rode off and bypassed T9 and re-entered in 10, rest of the day was alright

Nick and vtec, you both need to get some lap timers, I would love to see your official times, you both are running Int times, just stay consistent and predictable and you will do just fine in the more advanced groups.

on average, expert group runs < 1.27's
int. group runs >1.27's - < 1.35's
novice is > 1.35's

some days depending on whos there, experts need to be running closer to 22's and everything changes week in week out

Well the engine is at Kinetics now.. I found some material in the #3 cylinder.. don't have any idea where it came from. Jimmy removed the valves and nothing missing or broken..

but I do know that I have a few bent valves and need a piston.. the #3 rod may be bent..

this is kinda weird.. have no clue where it came from.. it's not magnetic.. oh well...
