Default My Rolex 24 2007 Pix

Mind you, these aren't all of my pictures. Just random ones I selected.

First up: Friday's pics:

These are from the KONI Challenge Race.

Nothing like a chain link fence to ruin a perfectly good photo:

These guys won the ST class at last year's Daytona event:

This car's garage mate won ST this year (car 76 won in ST):

I love the rotary paint scheme Speedsource uses for their RX8s

I gave up on the idea of standing behind the chain link fence and started taking pictures from the stands to go over it (the fence):

This GTO is quite pristine, given that this photo was taken about 2 hours into a 3 hour race:

This RX8 is on fire (not literally---that's for ferraris or jaguars):

Saturday pix!

A piece of history

Even the Hans device is carbon fiber (this is Randy Ruhlman's, obviously)!

While seeing how fast they could get the drivers out of the cars. That's Graham Rahall standing there.

Bobby Rahall

On its way to the starting grid:

The cockpit of a race car. Stock Porsche shift lever, even.

Carbon fiber everywhere!

Drivers of the #91 Lowes car.

The winning car on the grid

Oh how I do love the paint scheme of this car. It's gorgeous. Pictures don't do it justice.

Fart cans! See race cars have them, so should my 90hp civic!

More Speedsource Livery

Pit road & the football field were crazy before the race.

oops!

just a little bit faster and he would have hit the tire wall.

Ok, let's count the differences between the G6 GXP.R and the production G6 GXP. Let's see, the production G6 GXP has a unit body with transverse FWD V6, The G6 GXP.R is tube-framed, RWD, with a 5.0L LS2 V8, derived from the 5.3 V8 in the Grand Prix GXP.

waiting to merge with traffic after a spin out.

This Ferrari didn't finish

You have no idea how loud these RX8s are.

A not-for-position pass.

This sounded NOTHING like any G35 you've ever heard (powered by a Q45/M45/FX45 V8 ).

M3

Light level going down, camera shutter opening longer.

You know you are approaching night time when the lights start coming on.

Someone was smoking (this appeared to have been coming out of the car's exhaust pipes)

Noble M12 GTO

The ferris wheel at fairly close range (this is a 150-foot ferris wheel).

I only have a few pictures to post for Sunday since these are mostly the same cars and angles as Saturday, only with more damage (and the pictures didn't turn out as well).

Kinda wet Sunday morning

the G6s sounded good

I was asleep when this happened

Trying to practice taking a picture of the winning car crossing the finish line. I took a LOT of photos like this, yet I completely missed the one that counted. oh well.

Going back to the pits after the parade lap. This car startled me. I took 2 pictures and after the second picture it was closer to me than I was expecting. I had to jump back--was kinda funny though.
