Really just depends on what amp you want to go with. They should be matched accordingly in order to get the most out of the combo.

ok... it doesnt sound too complicated. Match a 2 ohm sub with a 2 ohm amp but would there be any difference in sound???

how?

just make sure the amp is 2ohm stable and that it meets the rms requirements fine.

Pretty much. It won't make a whole lot of a difference though if you're going with just one sub. Other factors come into play as well though, like how many voice coils the sub has. For example, if you have a dual voice coil 4 ohm sub, you could wire it so it presents a 2ohm load to the amp. Generally, the lowest ohm load an amp is stable to is also where it will make the most power, which is why you want to try and match a sub with that ohm load to it in order to get the most out of the amp. Also, be sure you go with a mono class D amplifier, they are basically sub amps.
