Audio Question (GTI)

My MkV has the stock Audio system in it, and it's pretty good except on thing. The bass is awful. And it's not so much the bass, rather than the bass limiter. If I'm playing something like Rage Against the Machine, or god forbid rap, on full volume it will audibly tone it down to about 75% volume. Does anyone know if it would be hard/solvable to reprogram the audio system with a subwulfer or what not? I don't want to have to replace the whole thing, or gimply rig anything.

Get an aftermarket stereo, dont even bother trying to fix that crap.

In this case, I'd probably forgo an entire new stereo. Simply adding a single 10 or 12" sub and amp would probably do the trick and save you from having to rewire the entire car. Run the amp hi-level. Quick, easy, and painless. Will give you that little extra bump you're lacking.
