View Full Version : VW Golf Intercooler and piping.

This is the stock intercooler next to the replacement we're building with new piping. The stock intercooler looks to be in a bad spot with little airflow in and out, not to mention it's tiny.
We modified the end tank to bring both pipes on the same side and we'll replace the rubber hose with 2.5" aluminum with as few joints as possible.

Looks good.
Those stock 1.8t intercoolers get heat soaked real quick.

OK, The VW is done. We made all the piping 2.5 Aluminum with only 1 joint. From the thottle body to the intercooler is one piece , It's tight but fits.
The bumper needed some trimming.

A True Craftsman
