I had a great time. The new race tires seem to be doing well. I also took a ride in the GTO today. What a hoot! :D

Yep, it was an awesome event - full grid, all the walk-ups got to run (BeQuiet, you shoulda come out...), six runs, all smooth as can be, great mini-road course (thanks, Alizarin).

I cannot WAIT for Feb. 17th...

Your twin didn't give you the rundown?

Full grid, lots of new faces, everyone got six runs, we cleared the site with plenty of daylight to spare. Interesting course...deserved better than the drive I gave it. Well done, Kenny!

While this course was a bit on the tight side (a few of us even tried it in 1st gear), most autocross courses are run mostly, if not entirely, in 2d gear. That's the nature of the beast -- keeping the speeds below 60-70 keeps the risk low enough we're not required to have roll cages, fire suits, and so on.

Anyone know the ricers that showed up on the course near the end of the day? One was driving a Legend (that did a sporty burnout leaving the course area) the other a primered Eclipse.

I think that element should either put it on the course or stay the hell out...although they did look precious in their gangsta gear.

All I heard out of them was "What's going on here?" to which somebody replied "Its an autocross". I didn't hear the rest of the conversation that led to their glorious :roll: exit.

They were seen later hanging out in the parking lot. I figured they were waiting on someone...or scoping for parts.

Yah…. the only thing that I didn’t like about the event was that when everyone was at the course and nobody was watching our stuff in the other parking lot.

Ah..I'm kicking myself in the ass for not showing up. I figured all the spots would be taken up...ah well. Hopefully I'll be out at brooksville next month, a bit more prepared this time.

After some Quality time with the suspension I have to say I am impressed with loren's driving ability, our right front Strut's spring perch had fallen 1.75 inches from it's "proper" location I knew somthing was wrong so when I got the car home on sunday I pulled out the jackstands to check the struts, as soon as the suspension hit full droop the spring fell out of it's perch.

Loren, said.. "felt fine to me" I was cussing screaming. and just getting plain angry since the car would Not respond to the changes I was making as much as it should.

and he just drove around the problem.. didn't even notice there was a problem.. amazing.

I think it has a lot to do with me not being used to your car. The whole thing feels "different" to me every time I get into it, so something that's "awkwardly different" doesn't stand out as much to me.

<shrug>

Or maybe I'm just awesome.
