Sunday, January 7, 2007
PALM BAY, Fla. (AP) - Two motorcycles collided in a high speed crash that left three teens dead in Palm Bay early Sunday morning.
Shane Alvarez, 19, was driving a Suzuki sport bike with passenger Kassadi Pullins about 3 a.m. when he rear-ended 19-year-old Ryan Popovich, who was driving a Honda Enduro dirt bike.
Popovich struck a mailbox, the vehicle burst into flames and he was ejected about 35 feet. Alvarez and Pullins skidded several feet and became entangled in the vehicle.
The two men died instantly. Pullins later died at the hospital.
It is not clear if anyone was wearing a helmet, although one was found near the crash site.
The victims had been at Pullins' house celebrating her 17th birthday, which would have been Monday.

One of the consequences of such notions as "entitlements" is that people who have contributed nothing to society feel that society owes them something, apparently just for being nice enough to grace us with their presence.”
