1/6/2007 Saturday Ride to THE LOOP [Archive]

To make this simple & to make sure everyone hits the good roads south of 50. Let's meet @ the Hess on 50 @ 9am... KSU 9:30am.

The folks from Tampa can meet @ the Marathon @ 8am & leave no later than 8:45 and squid it, if you have to. Don't worry about missing out on the twisties on the way to the Hess since we will hit them anyways when we head out from the Hess.

A couple of things since it looks like I will be leading the ride.

- The pace will be slow in the straights & fast in the corners. By slow I mean just that, slow. Prob no more than 10-20mph over. Ride your own pace & do not feel like you need to keep up. I will wait at every stop sign or the beginning of the side road we may need to take.

- Don't take the lead if you do not know where we are going. My wife will be bringing in the rear of the group on the MSFV. If anyone missed the turn by taking the lead I will not wait for anyone once I see the MSFV at the end of the pack. So please... stay with the group.

- Stunts are gay... if you feel the urge to stunt, save it for when there is no one around you. Stunting next to other riders is dumb & quite frankly doesn't impress anyone.

- Please wear your gear.

- do NOT mess with that "brandon" guy.. he's got a few screws loose.

Well I am definitely in for this ride... and I know a cool way to get to the loop from the Hess which involves the southern part of the North run before heading North East.

I will be there with the wife bringing the rear on the MSFV with her SV650s in tow for her to play at the loop with the gang.

I'll have a cooler with water & some soft drinks since I'll have the whole family with me (2 boys & girl). Looking forward to some fun.

Ofcoarse I will have the camera with me to take some shots.

Joe & Chad... hope you guys can make it.

2. would this be an all day kinda thing? Should we postpone the 1/7 Ozello ride (or make it a North run?) if this is an all day thing? 2 back to back all day rides wont be approved by management (wife).... :)

1. It's the "loop" in clermont.. consists of three roads connecting together that are suppose to be fun to ride. No traffic/cops kind of thing, from what i hear.

2. I do foresee this being an all day kind of thing. I want to ride your Ozello ride so i think we should keep those plans. I sure hope you can get it approved by management for both days man, it'll be good to have your company out there.

Chad... it's the Clermont loop you took us to. You can always leave whenever you like if you don't want to be back too late. I think you may like the way I plan to take there. Do come along if you can...

If everyone wants to go somewhere to eat, there are a few places on 50 in Clermont not far from the loop. I will likely bring something to hold me over since I will have the family with me.

When we meet, if there is anything in particular you want to buy & throw in the cooler, go for it.

Cecil calls his truck the MSV (Motorcycle Support Vehicle). I thought that was very appropriate so I decided to adopt his idea, except I call mine the MSFV (Motorcycle Support Family Vehicle) since the truck is our Family vehicle.

I think that is a good guess... there is a part of town that we have to go through that we have to do the posted speed limits... so I am pretty certain we can be there no later than 11:00am.

LOL worked out well but brandon diped out before the sleep over, and I was going to offer to share my bed with him :gay: but only if he would snuggle.

Anyways so we got brandons clipons straightened out but since I didnt have the right size to get his steering stem bolt off we were not able to transfer my old rc clip ons to his bike. We did however get my suspension sort of setup properly. The back is within specs now but the front is a little on the soft side with the preload adjusters maxed out. I knew i needed new springs but I got it close as possible.

Brandon its fucking pouring outside, drop a line on her or aim me when you get home man if you get this, otherwise see you tomorow at k&k.

Wow this turned out OK, for the way it began. I had a great time out there with the everyone. My wife was very happy to have been able to come out & play as well. And my kids were great for the most part considering they had to sit in the MSFV the whole time.

yeah, I left Land O Lakes early and got to the Hess a little before 9:00, roads were a little wet, then it was sprinkling @ the Hess. We hung out with Chris and waited to see what was up...had some family stuff to do @ 2:30 and had to be back, so we just shot straight out 50, the roads were dry by Richland and wonderful in Clermont....

we were heading out and saw you guys going up 27, sorry we missed you fellas, but we had a great ride anyhow....did 12 laps on Sugarloaf in about an hour and headed back....god i love that loop!!!!!

glad everyone had a good ride and came back safe!!!

Raul...hit me up when your heading out and i can get with you anytime and get the leathers...

Another great ride! No tickets, no one went down, and no mechanical break downs... what more can you ask for? :D

Yes sir... Mama likes the loop so we worked out a way to get there so we could both ride without having to get a sitter for the baby.

We had a great time, been talking about it still. We're doing it again soon. She is really getting comfortable with the SV.
