is that ported?
whats are the specs on the components? This looks like a really fun project.
Are you going to flush the amp in the last panel or is that storage space?

the sub is a kicker L5 12 dual voice coil. the box isn't ported. I like the sound from a sealed box. the total airspace is 2.1 cubes. according to Kicker the speaker is in a "Happy Zone" between 1.5 and 2 cubes. after displacement of magnet I figure I should be there.... the inside has a poly fill matting adhered to the sides. Another Kicker recommmendation. The amp Running it is a Kicker 750.xxx ( xxx's mean some sort of number.) there is a certificate rating the amp at 920 watts. it pushes only that sub. the rear area is not finished yet, but there will be a amp rack of some sort there. also on the right side in front of the battery there is a 2 fared cap sitting under that cover panel.. I will take some more pics when progress prgresses. other specs on system:
Ecplise 3000 headunit
front: Infinity Reference components (6" and 1" tweeter) tweeter flush mounted in door panel
Rears: MB Quart components (4" and 2" tweeter) tweeter mounted in rear sail panels.
Still running on deck power for the mids and highs. ran out of money at the store after buying the sub and amp. what sucks is I didnt even use the ported box that sub came with. just taking up space in the garage... here are some pics of the fiberglass guage pod as well. I know its not audio but its fiberglass... Heres a couple detailed pics of some stuff that I am doing for Ians coupe at DC. thanks again

yeah guages look bad ass.. are you doing this work yourself?? if so good job!...that amp you have is a pretty ncie one.. im assuming you bought most of that at circuit city, if so that sub/amp combo was the loudest they had in there.. exp for the dollar

thanks guys...yeah doing all the work myself. those componets were from C.C. I thought they sounded very good on the floor. money was right in my budget for it. I just couldnt use the ported box that came with the sub. it looks way out of place in my car.(kind of just thrown in look...lol) So ditched the box and built another. and it hits just as hard imo. I was going to do full fiberglass work in the trunk area of my 240 but to be honest with you Im tired of sanding. I do paint and body work everyday at the daily grind so enough is enough.... I think this looks tasteful. thanks again will update when I have some pics and progress.

All that fiberglass work is my own. Did the dash in my garage. Painted at DC becuase we have a booth there, its sitting in the showroom now. Waiting to be put in Ians coupe. First have to finish his trunk area and interior stuff...

Thanks... I am thinking about making another trim panel but painting it. That way I will have two different looks whenever I want it... Plus if going out somewhere to show it would look possible better... Not sure yet. But thanks again for the comments

well goodluck wiht it all, cant wait to see the finished project... how old is the kicker sub? within the last 6 months or so they changed the design of the box.. the older one sucked ass, it was tuned way to deep and just sounded horrible, but the newer one which was quite a bit smaller sounded alot better... I too agree that sealed sounds much better then ported

The sub/amp combo less than two months old...I like sealed boxes becuase of the sound qualitiy veruses the boomyness. I have move on from that part of car audio.... Its for me to hear not everybody within a 5 mile radius....lol

thanks!!!! I know that it annoys me when all you hear is BOOOOOMMMM then BOOOOOM then when you look around and roll down your window you hear... BOO(rattle/rattle/rattle)OOOMM.....BOO(rattle/rattle/rattle)OOOMM ... thats not good sound quality..of course thats my opinion....lol

nah... my car rattles on the outside but it sounds good on the inside, i just need to re-glue my top light back on since it broke off again and then it will sound clear.. the rear of my car just rattles because its old and the panels are rather loose.
i just cant stand the douchebags that roll through my neighborhood at 3 AM driving five miles an hour so all i hear is boooooooom boomboomboom boooooooooooooooom boomboomboom.................. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
I have NO problem at all when people drive around like this, even through neighborhoods, in the DAYTIME. but when im trying to get sleep and it sounds like i'm just outside of iraq, then its a problem.
people need to learn to be considerate to others. i thought of parking my car outside their house and turning it up full bass outside their windows to piss them and their parents off and then driving away once someone came out of the house but I have some sense of decency.... and this rant got really gay so forget i typed this last paragraph.
