so after al the bullshit formt he thread in the video post i have been hoping to run across a gsx... i finally did last night.. he caught upto me and playedwith his blowoff so when we caught the light i pulled out about a car and by the end of second it was over , he let out and then so did i... wasn't exactly a good road to stretch out on..... i drive an s13 with basic mods ( runs stock srs) and needless to say i was happy..lol... let the drama thread begin again.... i know all you eclipse boys will say its impossible for a 240 to ever beat an awd turbo 4 cyl. they r mad hawt tyte jdm yo and 240's got nothin.

Very easily done and very believable...... It takes experiance to properly launch an awd car. There are many GSX's out there, which means anyone could have one. Does it mean its fast,no does it mean they can launch it, no. A person with the propper experience would not be popping his blow off valve at you like a ricer who just got his first turbo car. They would also have it decently set up and I'm sure you would have enjoyed your run much more.

Oh no, a stock KA 240 beat a GSX with a blow off valve. Was it a 1g or a 2g and are you sure it was a GSX? It may have been a GST, maybe he couldn't drive. Either way... stock times 15.0-15.1 for GST/GSX

had exhaust and aftermarket bov... other than that i have no clue.. as said b4 coulda been a ricer with a new toy... also could have been a muffler welded on stock exhaust... no clue.. as i said i have just been looking for one to play with since the video of the slow 240 thread.

anyways good kill. a know a few gsk that dont really have many supporting mods, just showy stuff such as exhuast and bov. if you think about it though, all the ads back in the day said that the mitsubishi eclipse gsx is comparable to a honda civic si and preludes. so yeah, llike mid 15's to 16s in the 1/4 mile.

I've seen a couple of 2gs around USF that seem to have a BOV and a catback and not much else. One of them went WOT in front of me once and it didn't go anywhere. If you ran into such a car a kill is possible.

Gsx does low 15's (exoticcarsite.com) If his bov was dumping into the air, which im assuming cuz you know he had one, thats actually not great for the car. The ecu expects the bov to dump back into the airintake, so if its not the car performs less. Im sure theres some exception to this so dont hate me.
And my Mitsu's vtec is leakin oil anyone got a diagram for it? I dble checked my tec gauge and it shows full vtecing. i think i need to remove my passenger seat to get it right? or is it behind my brake light assembly? I think it needs more dot 3 fluid. lol

the explanation is simple the ecu is expecting the air to go back in so it compensates by injecting more fuel. causing the car to run rich. I haven't seen or heard of any real performance gains or losses due to venting. Only real difference you may see is loss in fuel economy. I just know my car wants to stall out all the god damn time if I let the RPMs drop too fast :mad:

my bov recirculates, and with the greddy type s the blow-off is loud as hell. its loud as hell in the driver's seat, even louder from the passenger seat. it must be orgasmic to hear it from right outside the car. (it is for me....:roll: )

my friend has a single turbo audi a4, and you can hear his diverter valve(bov) clear as day.

ive heard the bov go off on stock VW, srt-4's, even a saab.

you dont need to dump your bov to atmosphere to hear it loudly. I'm not trying to agree or disagree with the original subject of this post, but just putting that little tidbit out there.

That doesnt make any sense..unless like the others said that the driver didnt know how to launch/drive his car right. No hate on 240s or anything but dont they run around mid 16s? Just really really curious cuz i beat NA 240s right now and i only have Bolt Ons...

im not bashing or anything i used to have one and i loved it... just curious on the condition of urs because i had a 92 Hatch with a 95 motor in it , it launched Great and the compression was fine on the engine but i dont see it beating a Turbo DSM..
