Open Import (I dont think so)? Open Outlaw(highly doubt it)? Probably will be the Automatic Outlaws.

What's the diff between that and Pro Mod?

The Automatic Outlaws is for clutchless tranny's(converter only). Pro Mod is anything goes.

Ok, well I asked, and I kinda got the idea that he doesn't know yet. They say it might be a 6 second class, maybe an import/Rotary class. Thats what they said. So I guess we will have to wait and see.

Would be nice to have a heads up class with a 5.99 index.

sakurafms1
12-08-2006, 05:19 AM
That would be pretty cool if they added a import/rotary class in. There are alot of fast rotarys/imports in the tampa area that would show up:) 6.0index would pretty good too.Could mix it with imports too

OH MY GOD!!!!!!! An inport/rotary class!?!?!?! Are you kidding me????? That's the last thing we need. I don't think those things could sound any worse if you tried. I thought the NHRA had a muffler rule on Sportsman race cars. I think they need to make a stop at Sunshine and enforce it a little. Someone should tell those guys to put a muffler or two or even three on those things. They sound like ass!

Way too loud and they consistanly oil down entire lanes.

Ford DNA
12-08-2006, 10:36 AM
I doubt that it's the Automatic Outlaws since they plan to run 12 races a year between a few different tracks. Maybe during the months of Heads Up stuff at Sunshine, they'll only run at Sunshine?? I doubt it, though. Unless you are saying a general automatic only pro mod class? And not referring to the specific series?

Come show respect where is due wether it is a import or domestic. Alot of the loud rotarys do have mufflers, Just look under them and you will see it. I seen way more domestics oil down the track, the thing is that when a rotary oils it down ya tend to notice that more, but when a domestic oils down the track everyone tends to stay hush hush about it so it wont make them look bad. Wow Like domestic v8's dont sound bad.Only ones that sound good are the twin turbo v8's . Alot of the v8's that show up to sunshine all sound like crakling budweiser cans, When an rotary shows up it gives the track life,The louder the better in my book, IF you cant stand something being loud well just stay home with ear plugs on :D

200 domestics per night, maybe 1 oil down. 5 rotaries per night, AT LEAST 1 oil down.

haha its great to hear all this. i think its awsome how every time a pos elcamino runs down the track the tractor guy cleans the track for like 20 mins. haha but when rotaries run out they just catch fire and dont even get a chance to run down the track to leak.. atleast thats wat i see

I've never seen a POS El Camino out there. The fact of the matter is that any type of car that is making any kind of power has the chance of oiling down the track. Domestic, Rotary, or Import. It's just the way it goes. Deal with it. The complaint wasnt so much of who breaks down or oils the track the most anyway, it was about the noise. Yes domestics are loud, but if you can honestly sit there and say that the rotarys are not louder and more annoying then the domestics, then you apparently have never been to the track. ;)

Son of a bitch, we agree on something....the world is coming to an end.

This is just my two cents.....Domestics have their own night, street cars have their own night, and rotaries have their own night.....

Nothing bad against rotaries and street cars. but their are like 100-140 street cars a night and I'm all for keep people off the street from drag racing, but their is no reason at all Jr should be aloud to race his moms 82 Buick skylark or some guy with a with 78 K5 blazer.....that's what takes sooo long.

and yes i know the rotaries have their own night. but if I'm correct it once a month. i know since lake land is closed ever body comes down here which is great.....But their is no reason while in the pits working on your car to rev it to 17000 rpms....that's probably why you guys get a bad rap.......I'm not being a dick its just so god damn load and annoying.

lowryder420p3
12-10-2006, 02:42 PM
yea people racing there slow daily drivers does make it take long plus its real boring.. 17000rpm... hahahaha good one. yea rotaries should be out on special occasions like latino night DEC. 16th ohh yea!

Suicidal Racing
12-11-2006, 11:04 AM
lol this shit is funny..

the rotaries dont have to rev there shit like they do though..i've sat next to all types of combos and the rotaries are the worse..try being in the pits next to them trying to dial your shit in..u will be deaf quick like and pist because of it..least us dom. people only start are shit to build heat up in the engine or to adj something..and whats up with the rotaries reving like crazy as they pull to the water box and while there rolling to stage the car..maybe if yall didn't rev the hell out them they would stay together for maybe a pass or 2.

chris congrates on being runner up at the snowbirds to

I understad where ya are coming from with the noise and reving issue. But the thing is the rotary is a engine you gotta keep revving to see if everything is working fine in it. Gotta see if the nitrous system is activating how it is suppose too, Gotta hear if its mixing right and cleaning out how its suposse. So they have their reasons for revving so much. Thats how you are suppose to tune them,Its is funny cause alot of ppl that complain about the rotarys are the ones that dont know jack shit about them.

I was thinking...I don't see them adding an automatic promod class when the majority of the cars running that class already are automatics. There's maybe 3 clutch cars every time (sometimes NONE). So there wouldn't be many cars left to run the regular promod class. But who knows...it is Todd we're talking about.

I just don't see them getting the car count on any variation of the current classes. It would have to be something completely separate and different.

Suicidal Racing
12-22-2006, 02:33 PM
good point but it would be nice to have 4 classes for heads up madness.

if the radial series that alot of the radial guys are trying to do gets up and going then that should bring a good car count for radial..

If you don't like the noise, bring earplugs, ricer/rotary owners need some where to run too. I'd rather see 'em at the track than out at Gandy. I think they are annoying, though.

427bbc

i wouldnt wanna see em at any heads up madness event. I cant think of one who has ever got a clean run. They already have a latin night for that type of car anyway.
