dude, state law mandates that your insurance replace damaged windshields free. all ya gotta do is call your insurance company. work out any swapping with the windshield guy. plus it will ensure that its put in right, there are new laws and stuff that dictates how the window gets mounted.

You have to have comprehensive or collision coverage on the car to get the insurance to pay for it.

627.7288 Comprehensive coverage; deductible not to apply to motor vehicle glass.--The deductible provisions of any policy of motor vehicle insurance, delivered or issued in this state by an authorized insurer, providing comprehensive coverage or combined additional coverage shall not be applicable to damage to the windshield of any motor vehicle covered under such policy.

Assuming that someone has insurance is really going out on a limb!

Yes, the coupe, hatch, and vert all had the same windshield. The only exception is yellow square on SE coupes that reflect the HUD, but it's still dimensionally identical.

NO you DO NOT need to have collision, all you have to have is the state minimum to drive. due it being a FLORIDA law that makes it ILLEGAL to drive with a cracked windshield, you insurance company MUST replace it free of charge, or else its THIER fault. i have done it before, and several of my friends have done it before, one of which busted it on purpose cause it had wiper streaks scratched into it.
