Granted it's in Alaska, but imagine living down the way from a twisty road like this. (towards the end)

Have you ever been out of Florida? I think that's the most boring video I've ever watched. The Pennsylvania Turnpike has more turns than that...
Seriously, drive to anywhere North of the Mason Dixon Line and you'll see.
For example:

...I think you get the point. Go drive somewhere.

Hahaha. You dont know me too well then. I've lived in Florida for only 5 1/2 years. I'm still young, but I've been on roads that I now only dream about. We had plenty of twisties throughout Nebraska, South Dakota, and Iowa. Iowa was nice with the Bluffs. A lot of steep grade stuff. Nebraska was a little more difficult to find roads unless you were in the north east part. The same with South Dakota, but in the south east. SD has nice rolling hills with the occasional steep grade, but every single turn and straight flows through the rolling hills and valleys. Beautiful and relaxing drives.
I've driven through the Rockies, So. Cal., and from NE to PA at least 8 times. So I know there's more than what Florida has to offer. I'm just saying I would love to drive that road. Where it takes 30 minutes to go 30 miles, not 1 hour to go 3 miles

P.S. Videos of roads you've personally driven would be nice.

No video, it's kinda stupid to hold a camera while driving. Pics are all roads I've driven often.
I guess I just don't understand why this mundane Alaskan road is anything special...

how many people in tampa can manage 4th gear drift? even with grip i think you're going over 110mph. we need more sharp turns like mranlets pictures or move to north statesor jp.

Deal's gap is not to be fucked with. It's a serious place. Even skilled resident drifters won't drift the Dragon.

Mostly because its a two lane road with no shoulder or guardrail to stop your ass from going off a cliff/steephill/forested area. awesome roads though. ive seen enough videos of people sliding out on bikes..

yeah, there are some unbelieveable roads in the smokeys in nc. the area of the blue ridge between spruce pine and boone, nc and some of the mountain roads going from there to blowing rock and banner elk are a lot of fun and pretty damn scary when its really foggy.

I see...well everyone has an opinion. I'm just saying that there really isn't a challenge or much or any skill involved in that kind of driving. I would much rather be on a road that is more technical.
buck19
12-15-2006, 12:59 PM
Come to think of it I do all my hauling ass at night, granted I could sometimes go for a while with out seeing a car. I love having the middle of no where in my backyard, haha
buck19
12-15-2006, 01:03 PM
Well shoot, if you want a challange you should do some open wheel kart racing on the oval. Shits nuts. You rub you flip and I can't imagine flipping your kart with 4-5 people behind you going 45mph is going to be a good way to end the race.
Thankfully I haven't flipped yet.

ironically enough, i just got back from doing teh deals gap a few weeks ago. made a few passes with grip, slid out on one corner, and no no no. grip only. i'm not afraid of shit, but damn that was insane. the craziest road i have ever done was this crazy mountain road just outside of santa rosa cali. it was so twisty that when you looked over the edge all you saw was piles upon piles of cars.

there is alot of nice turns to grip but that place is way to dangerous to tempt fate like that
knoxville TN is where its at the foothills with roads so unbeliveable. when i moved my sister up there a few years back the girl she moved in with had a s2000 that i got to beat the crap outta for a few days. and ever since ive been trying to get backthere with a driftable car and really hurt myself hehe

12-21-2006, 11:24 AM
if you go down moog, your missing half the road.
Go down trouble creek, it has around 13 turns including 10mph rated turns with guardrails, the road is smooth for the most part, and at the end of the fun it has about a 3mile straight away for the top speed run, then turns into residential.

The best province in the world to drive in would be Isle of Man. Crazy rolling hills and winding roads. A place where a speed limit does not exit anywhere outside the city limits.

Around Halloween I went upto Burnsville, North Carolina with my friend to help his mom move. I'm orginally from So Cal and lived there till I was like 7, I grew up on canyon driving and the like, but I was so young I didn't really have any intrest in the roads...I moved to FL, long story short found my passion for cars and driving, look back, wish I could have drove the roads in cali, but going up to North Carolina was new to me. I hadn't been further north than atlanta before then, and I saw completely new roads..I only have a few pictures cause I forgot to charge my camera..lol
