I think it should be a pretty easy fix.. take a grinder and grind down the back of the imprints on your plate till they are thin enough to show light through, then just relocate your lights to the giant holes behind the plate..

Glow shit relies on light being on it for a long period of time to last throughout the night. So if your car is garage kept, you're pretty much fucked.
