White turboed 350Z...

Wow... I havent posted here in about 4 years. :D

Thanksgiving night I was driving home on DM. I had a nice 350Z thinking he was going to beat up on my poor little innocent looking SS. He kept getting on my bumper and then got beside me and let the BOV do the talking, so I let mine talk back. I guess he wasnt expecting my car to sneeze back ;) Got off a few runs, but nothing too fast since it was a known road and Im still running radials. Good guy and nice car, but he lost.

If anyone knows him, Id like to check out the car in person with the kit on it. Theyre pretty nice cars anyways.

Of the 129 Zs in the local 350z club, I don't think any of them that are white are turbo'd. There is a white one w/ an s/c.

I am trying find out if anyone knows of him. I'd like to see it as well.

bullshit! we all know that the dinosaur of the LS1 pushrod pos cant beat the all mighty quad overhead cam, since 8 cams on top of each head > 1 cam pushrod engine. Plus that cheap plastic probably slowed you down since you have to piece it all back everytime you shift

just for the record...will (if that's the STI you're talking about) got another LS1 car, Vince still has his C5 and it's got similar induction to the supra lol, and chris has been talking about wanting to get another Z06 for a while now

vortech style superchargers run similar to what can be equated to a belt driven turbo, they run a blow off/bypass system exactly the same as a turbo would and have same sound and effect :), it can definitely be hard to distinguish one from the other

I don't know anyone in the area with a white turbocharged Z, so I couldn't tell you what they were running. The only person I know with a white boosted 350z is running a stillen roots blower which really makes shit for power (much less than the centrifugal sc kits available).

One of the above posters was right that the typical supercharger kit for the Z will be running a recirc'd bypass valve that will sound awfully similar to the BoV on a turbo setup. The dead giveaway, though, would be the the sound of a turbo spooling versus the obnoxiously loud fighter-jet-sounding blower the supercharger kits run.

Oh yeah, and the rest of you don't know shit. :D

In 6 months I could have my car running 10's, but I don't like to make promises on what it "could" run, but rather what it does. 400+whp with a simple bolt on turbo kit, exhaust, reflashed chip, and full weight and interior is fine for me (and I definitely wouldn't call it slow).


Don't get me wrong, I understand that any car can be fast with enough time, effort, and money into it. If I wanted a balls out fast, and CHEAP, car I wouldn't have bought a 350z. However, I feel that at my age I need something less rough around the edges and classy.

Here is a short list of some of some 1/4mi runs for bone stock 350z's (on the stock garbage potenza re's). I'm not sure what you consider fast, but if you consider this slow compared to stock neons or hondas I'd say you're crazy.

make that closer to 30k for a good one...and if high 20s low 30s is cheap to you (for a 2 seater sports car that will have to be most guys 2nd car) you could have easily got a G35 that is classy. since that's what you seem to like about your car over cheaper/faster cars.
