Default Sprocket/Chain ?'s

Im in the market for some parts and im not totally sure on who to buy (manufacturer).

Sprockets (Vortex) What size as well? I dont need a huge one like 10+, but I wanna improve on acceleration. Ive seen +5 (rear) sprockets, I also read that you lose 10% top speed. A guy at a shop told me to get +3 rear -1 front...

Chains

Thanks for looking

Dont get Vortex sprockets, they suck! Check out the TriMetal and sidewinder sprockets, or AFAM.

Do we really have to fight over who uses the back brake or not?
Do you have to argue over stupid pointless shit on the Internet?

Vortex are very weak. Def dont get them.

I only use AFAM sprockets and DID chain. Very good combo.

For a 600 i think -1 +3 is perfect. But that all depends on what kind of riding you do. If you do alot of highway cruising then you might not like it.

But it will be a night and day difference and will wake the bike up alot.

Ok since this topic is posted I have a few questions also..

MOST people do -1 +2

I dont want to really mess with the front,so I wanted to go like 3 or 4 up in the back. What ever is available for my bike.BUT is the pick up still decent?

My bike comes stock with a 520,should I Go with a 525 or try a 530.

Just doing some research

no don't go with a bigger/stronger chain your 6 can't break what you have now....

and 3up in the back = one down in the front. so yes going up in the back will be the same as going down in the front. you'll just need to go 5 bigger to be the same as one down, two up.
