That thing does look slick. About time someone came and gave apple a run for their money. In my world, a lot will depend on how quick interfaces to factory and aftermarket head units come about.

I would expect some real scary advances in the portable media device market. At sema, I picked up some real slick little audio / video players...you'll have to see them to believe them, especially for what I paid.

Looks cool...but perhaps a little too similar to the ipod.

You're right but I love the size of the screen I want it for instal in my car. Trying to do away with the idea a tv screen and dvd player, I just took my stuff out of my car a couple of months ago

Looks hot, it seems as if they took everything good about the ipod and added onto it. As long as they stay one step ahead of apple they will be able to take the market.

The ipod seems to have stagnated in development after the more than disapointing video add on. You would think as intuitive as apple is with their PC software they would have thrown wireless onto the ipod by now.

Yawn, the zune is nothing special. The wireless music transfer only works if you have both poples permission, so you have to go ask people to get songs, and then only listen to that song for 3 days or delete it.

Oh and it wont recognize any other purchased music. Napster, ituns, etc. Previously windows recognized DRM music wont play onit, only new purchsed music. I know daltons gonna say "lol who pays for music anymore!" but lots of people do. I still buy music, albeit rarley. Screen is bigger but the same resoloution as the ipod video, which still works flawlessly for me.

so because you made the mistake of paying for music before locks you into ipod? noooooo

You are saying you dont have friends who buy songs and want you to give it a spin on your player? What about those annoying songs you play 1000 times in a day and are sick of after that?

the wireless also streams video from the xbox 360 and is capable of streaming live video from a pc such as possibly a tv tuner capture?

but, the zune has DRM at the very core of its being - it will not appear as a drive on windows PCs at all so you cannot simply copy your pirated mp3s onto it - you have to use its software wich since its made by microsoft will be quite intelegent and I can imagine will recognize pirated music =/

so it lost my vote. Ill have to keep waiting for someone with the balls to make a totally unlocked player.

Yeah, all 3 songs I've bought locks me into the ipod.

I dont listen to any songs onmy ipod 1000 times a day. I dont listen to music THAT much. Where did you get this info about xb360 and tv tuner caputer for the zune? You cant even use it for a removable hard drive, or non bought music, but they will let you record tv shows?

I'm willing to wager most of the features will be in thenext ipod release anyway. And I use all my pirated music on my ipod. No problems.
