Anyone here going? Im signed up for HPDE-1 on Sunday.

I missed the Sebring event:mad: because I blew a motor 2 weeks prior to the event. LUCKILY they let me cancel and switch it over to homestead this month! I just picked up a new motor last night so hopefully this one will get me there!

I'd like to get out and try some different race tracks, but since I was at Sebring this past Saturday, I don't think I'll be doing any more track events until sometime after Christmas (and after the Christmas bills are paid!).

This time of year ROCKS for doing track events, though. Much nicer than mid-summer.

Hope everything works out this time.

I know team sol members are headed down in December, so I'll probably head out with them.

Ill give them a shot, but they will probably want more than I can spend at the moment. Usually junk yards want around a grand for a single cam motor, which is a bit high.

Well, it looks like I found another motor! Hopefully all goes well and it runs good...I cant wait to get to Miami!

So is anyone else from Tampa heading out there?

I think I did pretty well for the first time out on track. i had 3 sessions of about 25-30 minutes. during the first session it was a lil "rough" I guess you could say, since the instructor didnt have microphones and I could barely hear what he was telling me and what he was telling me were the lines. the only reason I did as I did on the first session was because of the ride I got in the white hatch and remembered some of the line he took. Then I got to take a ride in my instructors pontiac GTO(had hankook race tires and full wilwood brake kit and other little things) and I just payed attention to where he was turning in and braking and just how he was driving in general. Second time out I was 10 times better, holding the line and braking just a little bit harder. by the time I was ready for my third session I had pretty much got it down, and I was able to start pushing the brakes a lil more. I foudn that i was braking at the 300 mark my first couple times out and on my 3rd i wasnt even beginning to brake until about the 200 or 150 mark. my power was the only thing holding me back from being a real fast car by the end of the day...

And for all you honda people, I had a VX tranny in the car:( I bought it thinking it was an SI and by the time I got the car ready it was too late to swap out to atleast my DX tranny again. So that really hurt me bad at the track...its not fun when 2nd gear goes to 90 mph!!! So next time I will either have my dx or an SI tranny and Ill go kick some butt!!!

yeah, just a lil ol' d16y8! Actually just got it in the car a couple days before the event, turned out great...besides the CX tranny I accidentally put on it. the tall gears killed me, 2nd tops out somewhere around 90mph!

I had a blast, cant wait to make it to the next one. The car felt pretty good, I had a little bit of(i dont wanna say understeer b/c all 4 tires were sliding:crack: ) but I guess that is what it was, i think stickier tires and maybe better suspension would have helped that alot. But that was only in turn 3, the rest of the track was awesome! The only thing I have done to the car is H&R Race Springs/Tokiko Blue struts up front and stock in the rear. I dont even have a strut bar on the car. I still cant believe how well the car handles with so little done to it. I could go on all day! haha!

Oh, and about spooncivic...ask him what his car wieghs and how much HP he is putting down(roughly 18-1900lbs and around 180whp). THEN ask him why I was passing his car car coming out of a turn:lol:

Keep in mind my car is basically stock, and only has MAYBE 120 to the ground!
