I just recently bought a license after playing the demo for a few months, and I can't get enough of it. This game is widely known as having the best tarmac physics. My username is _Jeremy_ if you want to find me online.

Their website is Live for Speed - Online racing simulator (http://www.liveforspeed.net/)
Look at stats, WR's, and replays LFS Desktop (http://www.lfsworld.net/)

Here are some videos of what you are missing...
YouTube - Live for Speed movie "Just_racing" (http://youtube.com/watch?v=ihSWy9SzdbQ) Cool Compilation, Changes pace at 1:40 Hilarious!
YouTube - Live For Speed - BF1 slowmotion (http://youtube.com/watch?v=p1eGgvoJ_JM) Slo mo BMW Sauber F1 car
YouTube - Live For Speed - slowmotion (http://youtube.com/watch?v=wWwH9cNDf2E) Slo mo front wheel drive ass-dragging.
YouTube - Live For Speed - slowmotion 2 (http://youtube.com/watch?v=YAUwOwowKBA) Slow mo compilation
YouTube - Live for Speed "Funk so Speed" (http://youtube.com/watch?v=MVUvF_JfVQg) Cool compilation, with crashes.
YouTube - LFS South city drift lap (http://youtube.com/watch?v=8hT8EWz5_uY) Dude drifts entire circuit.
YouTube - LFS (http://youtube.com/watch?v=wUO8LvaZ5Pk) They also have autocrossing, this dude copied a course from video.
YouTube - JJ72's run (my run!) (http://youtube.com/watch?v=8VP1zTyv_24) someone made a copy of Top Gear's test track in the autocross editor.
YouTube - Sim Touring Car Cup #3 (http://youtube.com/watch?v=km3H1-xhePc) From the Sim Touring Car Championship, they actually make movies and commentate every race in their series. So crazy, they make it look like a real race.

edit: YouTube - Run Riot (http://youtube.com/watch?v=TtKrAVhNSJQ) another cool compilation

The graphics suxors, and none of those cars look real.

You gotta try Need for Speed or Midnight Club for some real racin' action!

I've been playing GTR2 lately. Only $25 at BestBuy. Best car racing game I've played. We've got a dedicated server hosted at work and are starting up a "championship" series with some friends.

This one looks pretty cool too, might have to check it out if I get bored with GTR2.

I played the crap outta the GTR2 demo. For 25 bucks, it sounds like quite a deal. i bought the original GTR for 50, then about 2 months later, it was 20!

I would agree with the reviews of the physics for Live for Speed. It's a great racing sim with a huge variety of cars, which is probably its biggest advantage over GTR. Especially for me since I love open wheel formula type cars. However, I do prefer sims with "real" tracks. I'm still on the fence about buying the full S2 version of LFS if only because it feels wrong to pay for a product described by the developers as alpha.

Oh, and quick plug for rFactor

Great sim with physics probably close to GTR, and graphics that are way better than both games mentioned above.
