torquey 305/350
i've got a pick up. an old one. I'm not 100% on the year because the truck has been pieced together over the years. I'm currently using it to tow my lawn service trailer. I'm looking to get better fuel efficiency. The truck is definatly worn out. Its got some 300,000+ miles on it. I don't know alot about these engines, let alone big carborated engines. I'm not 100% on which engine it is, the 305 or the 350. I can't tell just by looking at it. Because the trailer is rather heavy when all the equipment is on it, I'm assuming I need more torque to get better gas milage.
Any ideas as to what to do?
As always, the cheaper the better, but I am open to some bigger mods if they are worth it.
thanks

rebuild at 300k.the motor has to be weak. grab a new intake manifold and camshaft. research which ones will give you more low rpm torque. ive always been told to shop the marine market for truck camshaft. every mechanic has told me that a 350marine cam will give a truck gobs of low end torque.
