Exclamation LSD for a 92 S13

Whats the EZest LSD that i can drop onto a 92' S13. I read that J30 is the EZest but what all do i need off the J30? also is onlt the 95+ J30z only ones with the Visious LSD or do they all have Visious LSDs? or does the 95+ have VLSDs and 94- have LSDs? anyone that know really good info bout all this or know websites please post. Thers like 10 J30z in the junkyard here and i wanta drop it on my 240 ASAP.

The easiest LSD that can drop into an s13 is an s13 LSD. J30 LSD into s13 bellhousing is a hack and will work but one axle stub will stick out about 2mm more than it is supposed to. J30 drops right into an s14 though.

FYI -

Earlier model J30 VLSD 93~94.5 came with 5 bolt output shafts. In order for the VLSD to work, you will need the half shafts / axles.

Later model J30 came with the same 6 bolt output shafts as s13 and s14s.

Into s13 chasis, you will need to change out the rear cover. Simply replace the rear diff cover with the stock s13 one and you are good to go.

Into s14 chasis, it is a direct bolt in.

The easiest diff swap for a s13 would be a stock LE (or ABS equiped s13), it would be a direct bolt in with nothing needed to be changed out.

ROFL -- True.

BTW, noone else asked the question, but what are your plans with your car? That should always factor in when you're considering doing anything to your car.

If you want to drift like a pro, and you want your car done the "right" way, save up some cash and get a Kaaz or Cusco 2-way clutch type LSD. You'll be glad you did in the long run.

But u dont necessarily need a 2-way LSD.
Vlsd's arent bad. But this guy seems to have just gotten into nissans because he's all like I need to drop me an LSD, which ones the EZiest? beginner drifter needs an LSD? Learn to drift the car STOCK then move on to an LSD. factory viscous are great.
